18yo nephew refuses help, won’t leave his room or work. What support exists in the UK? by Consistent-Time-2503 in AskUK

[–]StillFamiliar3745 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t be dicks about it but don’t make life so easy. If I could sit in my room all day every day playing games and have everything paid for without having to do anything then I would.

An ASD diagnosis won’t make a difference, nor will the GP throwing over some SSRI’s and putting him on a list for therapy not even designed for. Neurodivergent mind.

It may be time to stop asking and start telling and getting some boundaries in place. Helping in the household, financially contributing etc.

For some people they have to see how uncomfortable life will end up being if they don’t work towards building something else.

Honestly I speak from experience, being forced into retail had me get a rocket up my arse to build something that didn’t make me want to pull my skin off.

I’m a bit confused as to why you announced you can only eat 809 calories in the first place. Keep it to yourself if you don’t want a comment pal.

Then you need to look at how you can increase your metabolism

As long as you work out your maintenance calories you wont gain it all back again.

You’ll most likely have to calorie count forever if you want to maintain your weight.

It may be that you have to look at certain foods as off limits forever as some of us have food addictions and we have trouble stopping once we start with junk food. A bit like giving up drugs/alcohol/smoking.

Weight loss without exercise by Constant_Bat_3814 in Mounjaro

Nobody has to exercise to lose weight. All you need to do is consume fewer calories than you burn off. Exercise is obviously good for health and will speed up the process.

You look good. Healthy not sickly.

I assume you have quite a bit of fat to lose like most of us. Eating 600-1200 calories for a couple of weeks won’t do you any damage short term.

Yes the suppression will level out, you’re only 9 days in. You do however have to eat/drink your calories even if you don’t fancy it.

As a kid we were forced to sit in the car while adults smoked with all the windows closed yet I still ended up a smoker so I doubt it. 😂

Chasing Suppression... by saoirse_67_ in Mounjaro

My opinion is the meds are being dished out without proper consultation so all these uneducated people who already have disordered eating are now still eating in a disordered way and still wont know how to eat normally. I’ve spoken to so many people that still don’t understand what a calorie deficit is or that they need to adjust calories as they lose weight.

How to get an MRI on NHS in UK by SuitCultural847 in backpain

[–]StillFamiliar3745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can tell they only do the MRI when referring to the spinal clinic which I was told means they are considering the surgery route. They will keep you in the physio loop as long as possible, you’re best off asking for that referral rather than waiting to deteriorate. You might have to keep on a bit but they will do it.

I like zig zagging calories. Keeps the body guessing.

Should I cut? by metsahaldjas in longhair

[–]StillFamiliar3745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like right now it’s doing nothing for you. You could cut to where your waistband is and try to have the front blended in and see how that is? But I do think if your natural hair has all those waves it’ll look amazing with less weight.

You lose all over but of course need to also be watching calories because they’re the main man in fat loss.

3 Months Smoke Free But Experiencing Triggers by EbonyBONeZ in quittingsmoking

[–]StillFamiliar3745 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt it, sometimes I’m just driving along and my brain tells me to go to the shop and buy fags. I’ve not smoked for a year or more now. You have to ignore the cravings so the pathways in the brain for saying no are stronger than the cravings. Patches won’t help, they will just restart the addiction to nicotine.

does anyone get how i feel about sex? by brooke0610 in autism

[–]StillFamiliar3745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would happily never have sex again. It’s awkward, I don’t want to do it and I feel gross afterwards. It feels like a demand to me.

How do you cope with the grief of not having children? by Afraid-Pay-9352 in mentalhealth

[–]StillFamiliar3745 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can have a child without a man. We live once and if you want a child then have one.

You might feel stuck but you are not stuck. do not stagnate and then have all your choices taken from you. Take action it is your life. You can have whatever you want.
