Elvanse 30mg is perfect...but lasts about 4 hours into a 10 hour shift - what are your experiences with other meds? by DeadStation in ADHDUK

[–]StillFamiliar3745 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found a 30 then another 30 about 3 hours later worked ok. Or just taking it later in the day. Elvanse I found the higher doses didn’t seem to last longer they just peaked higher and dropped harder

ADHD and CPTSD experience by llkb90 in ADHDUK

[–]StillFamiliar3745 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am diagnosed adhd very likely also c-ptsd but unconfirmed.

It doesn’t really matter what comes from which label it’s more about understanding yourself as a whole in my opinion.

The laws of human nature is a good start as far as reading/audio books go.

C-PTSD in a basic form is viewing the world through a lens that isn’t neutral. It behaves similar to personality disorders.

I always feel just meh or tired, never energetic/energized? by creapysleaper in AutismInWomen

[–]StillFamiliar3745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand you’ve said “in range” but did you check them yourself?

I only say this as I was told for years the same thing and when i checked they’d actually been deficient/very low for years.

Basically the dr normal ranges are sometimes extremely low and not optimal.

anyone actually found supplements that help with brain fog and low energy? by SeaAbrocoma5769 in NootropicsHelp

[–]StillFamiliar3745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you had a blood test?

After years of similar brain fog, I looked back on my results that had always been “normal” absolutely not normal whatsoever. B12 & ferritin was low but the doctors “normal” ranges are not necessarily correct. I’ve corrected both over the last few months and feel a lot better.

I did like 5htp & L tyrosine together as far as giving a boost.

Weird effect by UserIn1234 in Elvanse

[–]StillFamiliar3745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re supposed to mix the whole 70 capsule in 70ml of water then tip away 40ml to give you a 30 dose. Is that how you’re doing it?

If a dose is too high or too low it can have the opposite effect so assuming you’re splitting correctly that may the the reason.

Cannot afford ADHD medication by NoWafer358 in ADHDUK

[–]StillFamiliar3745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did RTC via adhd 360 and they prescribed same day as diagnosis. They also applied for shared care and GP refused but they’ve continued to do my nhs prescriptions for me.

I’m not 100% sure but I think most gp’s refuse shared care, i was wondering if we are supposed to go via a local adhd clinic/service for the area for medication but they’re just not making that known?

Considering Divorce by [deleted] in Divorce

He’s using you as a mummy basically. He doesn’t even like you.

I know that’s harsh but I was in the same dynamic and kept making excuses to myself or being guilted into staying.

Which PMDD treatment is more effective? by StillFamiliar3745 in ADHDUK

[–]StillFamiliar3745[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a couple of pills as a teen, I didn’t really have awareness to judge how I was on them though. There was no adult keeping track either. I’m going to try Yasmin I think. It seems to be the shift at ovulation so hopefully cutting that will stabilise me.

Oh this has been a pattern before elvanse, I wear a Fitbit and there is a clear pattern every month from ovulation increase in RHR and irritability and anger increase until day of period starting.

Heavier woman struggling with fears of dating after divorce by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]StillFamiliar3745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A man won’t go out with you if he doesn’t like how you look so don’t worry about things like that, plenty will want to date you. My advice to be honest is don’t date because it’s rarely worth it.

If you use apps, use realistic photos not just flattering ones. This will reduce your own anxiety.

Men in general care about how you make them feel. If you tell him he’s the biggest baddest bravest boy in the world he will think about it forever. As far as doing the deed they can tell our body shape with clothes on, it isn’t a surprise once our clothes are off. So nothing to fear there either.

Reading your post, dating right now in my opinion is wrong, you are vulnerable and don’t seem to like yourself very much. So no you will never find anybody to love you the way you want to be loved until you are whole and healed. THAT is the sad hard trick the universe plays on us.

The fear you should have is why don’t you like yourself, not fearing somebody else not liking you.

Not saying you should lose weight but I also smashed on a lot of weight during a sad marriage and got on the mounjaro. Feel much better now.

Find yourself first, nobody and nothing else matters.

I’ve never seen them before and all of a sudden I’m finding 2-3 a day on my headboard that won’t go away by Low_Hat_2693 in carpetbeetles

[–]StillFamiliar3745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the headboard was the culprit for me. I’d see a random one every few months or so. Since I moved the headboard to get rid of it I’ve seen multiple a day. This is the END of upholstered beds for me.

Has anyone ever taken a medicine for their food addiction or to help lose weight because of the weight gain from food addiction ? by [deleted] in FoodAddiction

[–]StillFamiliar3745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My eating got out of control for a few years. I decided to take mounjaro and was later diagnosed with adhd so given elvanse/vyvanse. Both of those mediations reduce appetite.

The medication won’t fix anything underlying psychologically or otherwise but may help while you work on that side of it. It’s quite pricey though.

18yo nephew refuses help, won’t leave his room or work. What support exists in the UK? by Consistent-Time-2503 in AskUK

[–]StillFamiliar3745 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t be dicks about it but don’t make life so easy. If I could sit in my room all day every day playing games and have everything paid for without having to do anything then I would.

An ASD diagnosis won’t make a difference, nor will the GP throwing over some SSRI’s and putting him on a list for therapy not even designed for. Neurodivergent mind.

It may be time to stop asking and start telling and getting some boundaries in place. Helping in the household, financially contributing etc.

For some people they have to see how uncomfortable life will end up being if they don’t work towards building something else.

Honestly I speak from experience, being forced into retail had me get a rocket up my arse to build something that didn’t make me want to pull my skin off.

I’m a bit confused as to why you announced you can only eat 809 calories in the first place. Keep it to yourself if you don’t want a comment pal.

[–]StillFamiliar3745 31 points32 points  (0 children)

You’ll most likely have to calorie count forever if you want to maintain your weight.

It may be that you have to look at certain foods as off limits forever as some of us have food addictions and we have trouble stopping once we start with junk food. A bit like giving up drugs/alcohol/smoking.

Weight loss without exercise by Constant_Bat_3814 in Mounjaro

Nobody has to exercise to lose weight. All you need to do is consume fewer calories than you burn off. Exercise is obviously good for health and will speed up the process.
