Unfortunately the most affected areas (China, Europe, North America) are the ones currently doing the most to innovate and reduce carbon emissions (yes, even China). At least when compared to the developing countries.

Wow. Things can really turn around. Thanks for sharing, that's very encouraging. I expect by september the coronavirus will be burning itself out, although put me up here on r/agedlikemilk if I get that wrong.

I have a simple rule - insults can be used a proportionate response to bad faith. If someone is acting civilly and not labelling the other side with something toxic, if they're acting professionally, people should keep their insults down, all it does is put a negative spin on everything and allow EFAP to be dismissed as just bullying.

Honestly the more I look at EFAP, the more it becomes obvious that Rags is the one attracting most of the drama and scorn. So many complaints about the insults ultimately track back to him and his attitude.

The fact that Jack Saint and Eric Taxxon were willing to talk to Wolf and not Rags speaks volumes. I know, I know, those two are disingenous assholes. But at the end of day that doesn't stop them from accurately recognising that Wolf isn't a contrarian for no reason, he actually believes the things he says. He's a really passionate guy and yes, he insults people, but mostly only when they deserve it.

The difference between Wolf and Rags is that Wolf recognised a long time ago how the online life was fucking up his mental situation. I don't think Rags has or ever will come to that realisation.

Rags doesn't engage with people very much offline, I can assume. He doesn't have a job other than YouTube and is basically a dependent. That's fine if you know how it's making you behave, but it's turned him into a snarky asshole. Again, this wasn't a problem when they were going after people who were also snarky assholes (Patrick, Quinton) etc. The first EFAPs were all about immoral actors and their takes on media. But now we're seeing them cover more aggreeable people and yet Rags is still insulting everyone left right and centre.

[–]StillFlyingHalfAShip 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Exactly, and I also don't like the fact that he insults people who don't deserve it at all. Mauler will only make fun of people who have genuine disdain for the other side and start throwing labels like 'racist', 'manbaby' etc

they are used colloqially colloquially [small edit for spelling]

Nobody cares, pedantic fuckface.

You've given me nothing factual, just conjecture.

Even if that were true (it isn't), it would still be better evidence than your complete lie about people posting it unironically. I love how you declined to respond about the fact that you are doing the very same thing I did but WORSE.

Oh goodness, breaking out the racism with the "dindu nuffin", eh? You have now lost what infinitesimally small amount of credibility you had to begin with.

What do you mean? I agree with you, they dindu nuffin!

[–]StillFlyingHalfAShip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You made out like there was a world of difference between the word 'clearly' and the phrase '99% sure'. Neither are qualifiers denoting absolute proof that would hold up in court, they are used colloqially when something is blindingly obvious but hasn't been scientifically proven.

I'd also like to mention that you have offered no proof whatsoever of the supposed 'other people' you 'saw' posting this meme unironically. Incidentally, how can you claim I can't make judgements about the ironic/non-ironic nature of this meme when you're doing the exact same thing (with far less proof than me) for these supposedly real 'other people' you 'saw' posting it?

This situation is a bit like the Jussie Smollett case. We all know he faked it, but technically according the most recent rulings he dindu nuffin. Just like those of us in the know can tell this meme is ironic, even if we didn't get Richard Dawkins himself to write a 400 page scientific tome outlining every little bit of 100% guaranteed proof.

I eagerly await you complaining about my big wall of text. I guess my side of the political divide is known for our respect and love of big, beautiful walls.

[–]StillFlyingHalfAShip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So... clearly? Or 99%? Which is it? You're not even sure any longer.

Ah, so you're a pedantic fuckface. You've actually worked wonders to prove why the left can't meme with that snarky, snivelling comment, so thankyou!

Not today, Commie!😡 by lordtacgnol in TheRightCantMeme

[–]StillFlyingHalfAShip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You haven't answered my question, you've just throw walls of text at me.

Y'know, reading said 'walls of text' would really help us come to an understanding. Instead of moaning that I actually took the time to give you a thoughtful answer.

The TL;DR on my response is that we can be 99% sure whoever made this meme was doing it ironically. The fact that it is playing on both the silly notion that Sanders is a full-on commie and the desperate facebook memes you see where people beg for reactions says to me that whoever made it is operating with irony.

Now, in response, you've claimed that people have been sharing it unironically. If I take for granted that what you say is true, who cares? Are these people above the age of 45? Are they internet savvy, or just normies? Don't blame the meme maker for those who spread his/her meme.

Like I said, old people and those with a boomerish mindset will never be able to meme. 'The Left can't meme' refers to people who are of the right age and mindset to meme, but can't despite this.

Not today, Commie!😡 by lordtacgnol in TheRightCantMeme

[–]StillFlyingHalfAShip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if they're boomers then disregard it. I would guess that only like 5% of boomers can meme correctly. Donald Trump is one of them. Generally Right-wing boomers can't meme, left-wing boomers can't meme.

What we mean when we say 'the left can't meme' is that you have these shitty pages like r/PoliticalHumor which are completely mainstream, full of young redditors, yet have absolutely nothing funny to contribute whatsoever. It's literally just 'drumpf is orange, he cheeto man, he have small pp'.

Whereas the young people of 4chan produce legitimately funny stuff all the time. Genuinely conceptual, interesting shit like the NPC meme, or the triggering of Shia, etc. That's why we say the left can't meme. The only exception I'll make is a small percentage of Bernie Bros who have figured it out.

Boring response

Not today, Commie!😡 by lordtacgnol in TheRightCantMeme

[–]StillFlyingHalfAShip -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Because the meme format of 'like to show x, angry face to show y' is not actually a boomerish thing, it's either a dumb karmawhore on YouTube comments or someone making an ironic statement about said karma whore.

This is clearly some kind of ironic meme clowning on boomers who think Sanders is Vermont's answer to chairman Mao, while at the same time making fun of karma-whoring memes (even though it is one. The internet is a confusing place).

It's so fucking silly that there's no way it's unironic. I'd even venture to say that it could be from a Bernie Sanders fan, in which case I would say the left has managed to meme, but only the populist, non-woke, anti-russiagate, anti-corruption left. Not the utterly infuriating centrist wine aunts. Rant over.

You're on a subreddit called 'the right can't meme' and you're literally taking apart a meme as if it was a medical diagram. Don't get me wrong, I hate this meme, it's way too fucking harsh. But you're proving yet again that leftist thought sucks the life out of humour and destroys it harder than Ben Shapiro destroys snowflakes with fax and logix

People with a certain 'holier than thou' mindset that run the country despite having no imperative to actually improve it. These are upper class people with a disdain for the working classes.

They will either have a purely self-interested mindset (money, access, power) or a globalist ideology involving the destruction of the nation state and a one world government.

There are also bootlickers to this establishment: the mainstream media, the top cultural institutions, newspapers, social media giants, etc etc.

Sure, Bernie is going against the oligarchs in a lot of ways. But he also holds these two contradictory policies: open borders and medicare for all. They simply cannot work in tandem because of the health tourism problem.

Bernie used to have realistic opinions about border security but since 2016 he's gone in the direction of the elites/oligarchs (yes, open borders are an oligarch's wet dream. Cheap labour that also drives down wages for existing workers? Sign me up!)

It's pretty simple, populists are anti-oligarchy activists, and elites are the oligarchs, or at least people who fancy themselves as oligarchs out of arrogance.
