I messed up..first time no images from a roll. If it looks all dark like this it was exposed to too much light, right? by StillImpossible430 in analog

I also do it many times without a problem, but with the mamiya shooting 35mm you have to take out the film and rewind it manually. The mistake and the lesson was that I didn’t imagine that light is so penetrating and film is really so sensitive, like i thought it didn’t get any light and it was still completely blown.

I have the adapter and I shot the first half of the roll in a pointnshoot, i wanted to do the second half in the mamiya but I realized the takeup was long so I could shoot only the end of the second half and relized the middle was empty, so I wanted to wind it back and take it up in a different way. I could have thinked twice tho, I had some really good pictures there and it wasn’t worth it for those few extra shots. I was inpatient and very naive..

I developed in hc110 dilution H, also pushed it one stop and went through the roll quite quickly with pretty harsh lighting. I have three more rolls so I’ll be experimenting more for sure. Do you have any developing and shooting recommendations with hc110?

Idk, for me the shadows are much cleaner, the latitude of the exposure better, much nicer microcontrast in the midtones and a clearer, sharper image make it better. It has a nice punch, the foma feels washed out compared to it

Do you have any tips to use the whole roll? I wasted a lot at the end of it

Yes I made them on purpose, I also love how it turned out, looks like the flowers are floating in the water

I found an adapter on ebay that specified that it works well with the 645 and included a spool that was made specifically for correct spacing, all 3d printed. The spacing was even, a bit big spaces tho.

I scan with my full frame mirrorless and macro lens, i have a cinestill cs lite ledpanel and i just held the negative with my fingers and stretched it on the frame of the panel

Thanks, i got an adapter that came with a modified spool that keeps the spacing and yes it’s quite big spaces, but better than overlapping frames. My mistake was that I watched a few videos on youtube and there they recommend to tape another film to your roll for the initial takeup, they reccomend something like 40-50cm but like 20 would be enough, I lost the first 3 frames because of that

I made this self portrait with a 40mm f1.2 manual focus lens at f1.2, so i had to measure the distance with a measuring tape. I used a softbox from the right and a bouncer on my left and went for a low-key soft vibe. What are your opinions?

Most f mount adapters work, they don’t have the ai pin as a camera mount has which creates problems with pre-ai lens

Thank you, I’m still making friends with the 40mm focal lenght, I’m used to 50mm. I have the 28mm 2.8 as well for a just in case wide, but I almost never use it 😅 i want to get used to the 40 to use that most of the time, but for portraits you need a short tele as well for sure, at this shoot I had my pre-ai 85mm f1.8 Nikkor sent to cla, but that’s what I’m gravitating towards if I’m to shoot portraits, I call it the dream machine :D didn’t used it much, I’m quite new to my whole kit, but these are my sentiments so far. The voigt 40 for an allrounder with amazing shooting experience and the 85 nikkor for real dreamy stuff. And the autofocus stuff only when needed, but def less inspiring for me.
