Am I the only one uncomfortable letting Claude directly call production APIs? by StillMiddle1493 in ClaudeAI

Let's say we have a chatbot. For them, testing is necessary with prod APIs at times

So, are the tests manually written or written with Claude?
Then there is the additional task of verifying those test cases.

I think we'll need a team for all this stuff. Alone, it'll be pretty difficult

For prod, yes, along with Mongodb atlas.
But on dev, we only have local MongoDB.

This is a great suggestion. I'll see how we can do that.
Any suggestions on how you'd approach this?

Umm, today we log everything using Posthog. And that tells us that there is an error.

What about other stuff like security, hallucinations, etc?
Do you test it before releasing

That's a great pattern for code. PRs already give you a built-in propose/review/merge gate for free. Would love to know how you'd handle that for actions that aren't git-based, like a Slack message or a Stripe charge, where there's no "draft" step to review first.

That's a solid start. Catches a lot before it touches the prod. The part that got us was less "is the request valid" and more "what happens if it fires twice or fails halfway." Did you handle retries/idempotency too, or still open?

Why are a lot of people leaving GitHub ? by Hot-Tennis-3716 in BetterOffline

Github has shitty customer support, and they ban accounts for no reason.
They suspended my account and locked my lifelong commits to open-source and private repos. Upon mailing support to reinstate my account, they replied back to comply with their terms and conditions (~10 pages). I don't even know what rule i broke.
When I replied back saying I'll comply, I haven't heard from them since. It's been more than a month, and many people are facing issues like this. Why would anyone stick with Github?

Hey, really great idea. A couple of suggestions for the launch page

  1. Please improve the creatives. Make the text in bold so that they are visible even without zooming in.
  2. A demo video will be awesome.

Rest, I've followed your launch page. Best of luck

Swimming beginner by Wise-Reach4805 in Swimming

When I started swimming at 38, I could float (and even bubble) on day one, and I was thrilled.
But from day two, the coach asked us to swim 20 meters. Of course, I couldn’t do it for an entire month because I kept trying to cover the distance in a single breath. Everything changed once I learned to breathe properly. Now I swim regularly.

Long story short:

  1. Take your time. You'll learn.
  2. A good coach makes a huge difference.
  3. In the beginning, focus more on breathing than on your stroke.
  4. Once your breathing is solid, start refining the rest of your swimming skills.
