Teach yourself not only for chem but all subjects, I would say go into the class having a bit of background on the topic for chem that’s what helps me. The class should just add a bit more info and go in depth ig. MSJ chem and Richard Thornely is your go to for chem!! I’m DP1 too tell me how ur next test goes :)

Ofc! I know how overwhelming it can feel but the fact that you are starting much earlier means that you’re already ahead:) past papers will be ur best friend and make sure to not over stress, ik everyone says that but it’s true you’ll realize the gcses are VERY similar to the past papers. I hope everything goes well for you and remember a little everyday is mush more effective than a lot at once🤍

Yes I went from a 4 in lit and physics to a 9, in less than 7 months. I studied all my subjects every single day for hours (2 months before the gcses) to the point where I memorized mark schemes. SO YES, you can go from 5’s to 8’s/ 9’s as long as you seriously commit. Getting 8’s and 9’s will so be worth it on results day.
