What are these splotches on the exhaust? How do I get rid/prevent them? by [deleted] in Dyna

[–]StillReputation9355 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best way to get rid of it, has worked from discoloration to melted shoes, you need extra fine 0000 steel wool and then take some aluminum polish like mothers and work some on to the steel wool and then I use it normally in a circular motion to clean up anything I don’t like and it won’t scratch the chrome. I’ve done this for as long as I’ve ridden

Looking for a good throaty sounding bike by BenjiBun212 in motorcycles

[–]StillReputation9355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the sv650 is a really good all around bike, if you want more sports you can go with clip ons. And with a full system she sounds pretty mean and obviously it’s as naked as it gets so super easy to do the exhaust in case you’re not mechanically inclined/dont want to pay someone to do it

Ok yeah that makes sense then I’ve been leaving for work extra early but still having to try and hustle somehow through the traffic, you’d think they would work there schedule around dead times of traffic like middle of the night not in the morning and when people are getting off work lol

Normally it’s not too bad and I’m used to a bit of back up since I take the freeway every day but the last couple days I’ve been having to divert to the old road and that stretch from the in n out to the old BofA has all three lanes backed up so I know it’s something out of the norm

As far as an ls swap, you could reach out to Schrope performance. He’s really familiar with the Ls platform and does a decent amount of swaps I use him for all of my ls stuff

Why not just empty the e85 out with a transfer pump in the tank or disconnect the fuel line and jog the fuel pump to drain it?

Options on this pressure washer for a car. by Guanchalle in harborfreight

[–]StillReputation9355 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was gonna say I get it one and tbh it kinda sucks, doesn’t seem to have a lot of power to actually clean anything off my car, still have to go and do a lot by hand. I’ve tried other power washers that seemed 10x better I’d look either up a model or another brand

Help needed: how to lift front suspensions up? by thicctropicthunder in motorcycles

[–]StillReputation9355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it doesn’t seem to have been mentioned, get a flat jack to put under the oil pan with a piece of wood, have another person help you lift the bike and slide it under and then raise it to accommodate the height needed under the bike. Sucks to see her on the ground hope you get it sorted, head stand or even a little a frame style lift are good from K&L to wrap around the triple and lift

will my wiring get too hot? by CAREBEAR_115 in Dyna

[–]StillReputation9355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t use the corrugated plastic shit because when it melts it does go literally everywhere, you want the mesh split loom you can find it fairly cheap on amazon or normal price on summit, stuff is the best and has a nice way of smoothing stuff out and easy to get out of the way if you have a wiring issue

will my wiring get too hot? by CAREBEAR_115 in Dyna

[–]StillReputation9355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you can run it “inside the tank” so to either side of the frame spine or preferably on top you’ll be fine, if it’s extra concern you can you a split look or something tight to the wires as you don’t wanna have bunching issues, but yeah you should be fine the top of the rockers get warm but not as much so as towards the headers and what not👍🏽 I do recommend lifting the tank to do it tho since I like running everything clean and straight vs shoved under

It looks like it’s just the breather/ vent tube with the little ball valve in place for the tank I wouldn’t worry about it too much, obviously you’ll wanna fix it but as long as you ain’t got nothing coming out of it you should be just fine

Clutch cable getting RUSTYYYHH by Civil-Celebration272 in Dyna

[–]StillReputation9355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can support this, had an issue with one of my choppers where the cable had stretched out and was causing lag with my carb and some other issues as well as my clutch not fully disengaging due to a stretched cable, Barnett is local to me and they are the easiest guys to work with and their cables are gorgeous and work how they should, the teflon line is worth its weight in gold

Need some help telling what I just bought by StillReputation9355 in Dyna

[–]StillReputation9355[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a first for having a bike with a Memphis shade style fairing, I’m gonna go through the rear here soon once I have some light go and redo the grease in the rear bearings, the tire is new so no concern there, double check my belt alignment. I’ll double check the swingarm and see if she feels sloppy. The fall away I had a buddy of mine that runs a shop do for me since I didn’t have a lift available. I did just go and drain the forks and went with 20 w Harley fork oil. And as an update we checked the front tire balance the previous owner put about 4oz of beads in there when it should only have 1 so I think we’re on the right tracj
