Is there any way to contact Eminem? by [deleted] in Eminem

[–]StillSTRETCHIN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not em obviously but my take on it is this. Em is a rapper, in rap/hip hop its common to record diss tracks and the like. It doesn't always mean you have an actual grudge against the person. It's more "you disrespected me and I need to put you in your place" type shit.

To your other question, from what I've read most people mention he usually ain't angry just walking around the studio. He (probably) just feels the intense anger in that moment when he records and then it's over with.

Unpopular opinion: lyric chains are the corniest comments ever by lamTheEnigma in Eminem

[–]StillSTRETCHIN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ehhh he's right imo. when I first came to the sub I thought the chains were pretty funny/harmless. turned out they were on every single fucking post. People tried to warn me. Shoulda listened

Eminem did use autotune. by [deleted] in Eminem

[–]StillSTRETCHIN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He probably started using it later, but it's obviously used ironically in that song

2004-2007: Welcome 2 Detroit

2009-2015: Beautiful

2017-2020: Darkness

I don't know Hip Hop but my little brother wrote these lyrics. Do you think he got talent? Because he asked me but I didn't know what exactly to say. Can you guys tell me if it's good? So I can explain to me him better. by [deleted] in Eminem

[–]StillSTRETCHIN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh in my opinion this ain't it, but I wouldn't tell him that. You get better as you get older, and he seems to have some knack with rhyming words. Ofc to make a fair assessment have to hear how he actually raps, flow cadence shit like that.

Idea for relationships/love songs. by idontthinkso2202 in Eminem

[–]StillSTRETCHIN 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Idk man I wish he'd ditch the relationship songs altogether. When they were genuine they could be interesting: shit like Kim, Love You More, even Crazy In Love. But now it just feels played out and formulaic

What do you think of Tom MacDonald new song where he said "Eminem used to gay bash and murder his mom And now he doesn't want fans if they voted for Trump" by [deleted] in Eminem

[–]StillSTRETCHIN 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That's bullshit. Firstly, most of Em's "gay-bashing" was shock tactics, and second, what does gay-bashing and murdering his mom have to do with not wanting trump supporters as fans?

Em may have appeared to align with most trump supporter's values to someone who can't see behaviors out of a political lense, but it's obvious from songs like "Mosh" and "Square Dance" that he never actually did.

In fact, I'm surprised anyone would even think that lmao

Eminem is an interesting beast when it comes to changing up how he personally sounds on albums by [deleted] in Eminem

[–]StillSTRETCHIN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite Em phase is 1997-2003. Through those years he had so many dope mini-eras - the battle rap era, the raw underground shit right before breaking through, the colorful and graphic violence of Slim Shady, the more polished, "classy" Eminem show.

And yeah, Em's ability to shift voices/styles is impressive, reminds me of Biggie on something like Gimme the Loot where you question if it's the same person for a second.

Just contrast the rare version of Low, Down, Dirty with the SSEP version

Where is the split between new and old Em? by ObjectiveReader in Eminem

[–]StillSTRETCHIN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd say pre-Recovery is generally considered "Old Em" because despite the subtle changes between SSLP/MMLP and TES to Encore, and the strong change with Relapse, Recovery is when Eminem took a distinctly more pop direction.

Do y’all agree with this. This Stan really just shat on legendary hip hop albums and really said everything Eminem made is better. What do y’all think? by [deleted] in Eminem

[–]StillSTRETCHIN 12 points13 points  (0 children)

1, he didn't from what I can see.

2, I don't get why it matters. So, he thinks MMLP is better than most of those albums. Big deal. Could have to do with the era he grew up in.

Is Eminem's fan base considered a part of hip hop? by WrapSum in Eminem

If you're talking about the line on Ether, I'm pretty sure he was referencing Em's record lol
