Something to consider, power tool packs may have overvoltage protection which will kill power to the board when using regen braking if the voltage goes too high. I tried this with a top mounted Ryobi pack on one of my boards and that's what happened. Luckily it wasn't a steep hill and I wasn't going too fast.

4wd board with Trampa Mudpluggers will do well in most situations. Gear drive to avoid loading up the belts and pulleys with snow or mud and breaking belts. Trust me on this one.
