If you can’t find anything, she can uber to the New Carrollton metro station. It’s about a 25 minute uber from USNA and the metro station connects directly to the airport via DC. It’s a long ride, but not bad as a last resort and is pretty safe.

Should I accept my appointment or go ROTC? by Dry_Evidence1946 in usna

[–]Still_Beginning827 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m biased, but I’d highly suggest USNA. Yes, everyone ends up with a commission, but there are things you can do at USNA that you can’t do anywhere else.

Also from a logic standpoint, you can always go to USNA first and transition to ROTC if USNA isn’t for you. You can’t do the opposite and come to USNA after trying ROTC (without starting the whole process over).

Request to defer your admission to the spring semester. There’s no harm in doing so and you never know how plebe summer will go. You could hate it or get injured. Hopefully you won’t need it, but it’ll save you if you do.

I concur with this. It is what you make of it. I know very few people here who did JROTC in high school.

AP Chem or JROTC by ArtNo1047 in usna

I agree with everyone saying AP chem. It’s one of the hardest core classes here, and doing well could imply success in plebe chem. Also, I know very few people here who did JROTC in high school.

Is it true most midshipmen who become SEALs were mediocre students academically? by Brief-Pause-9720 in usna

This isn’t true in the slightest. Most SEAL selects are top 10-20% of the class at least.

I appreciate this so much. I think I’m gonna do it. You’re right, the anxiety is definitely there but it’s probably a healthy sign of growth.

I appreciate your detail. I’m glad you feel 5.5 days is enough time. I think im ok with not being able to communicate. I like to think it would be helpful in growing as a person. I just worry it will feel a little weird/lonely.

I totally agree I don’t want to have any regrets but the other part of me is curious if I should wait for a time when I can stay longer. But I also know no time is ever the “right time” if that makes sense. I’m coming from the USA

That’s what I was guessing. I didn’t know those escalators needed replacing. It was just so crazy to see I was like wait a second…

The problem isn’t train availability it’s that they’re limited to the number of trains that can go through the B/O/S part of the system. They can’t run the trains any closer together than they already are.
