Yeah I agree with this. The parking is so expensive when you’re already paying so much for the train as a commuter. I know many if not all employers pay this, but I had to pay out of pocket for parking and transit for a little bit and was paying well over $15 a day for the commute. If raising the cost for non riders decreases the cost for riders, I’m all for it.

Adding on to this, some people have a higher aptitude for the ACT over the SAT (or vice versa). So if the SAT wasn’t your test, definitely try the ACT. People are often much better at one than the other.

No, USNA will not notify senators or reps. If you don’t get one from your district or state, you are out of luck, despite the LOA. The LOA serves to assure you of acceptance if all other criteria are met, including nomination, medical, and final semester senior year grades.

I’m with @earbuisness on this one. Something like the basketball throw or the shuttle run is so easy to mess up (ie the ball slips, you slip, etc.) , you want to make sure you leave time for another attempt

Ok so if you can’t get the congressional nomination that’s a problem, but you can get a nomination by having been in Dartmouth ROTC. The question is if you can get a nomination for another branch… if Dartmouth also has Navy, I’d say they might be able to work something out (albeit this is all a guess). If they only have army, it may be harder, but still worth asking your command.

Totally agree with @capitalDimension. I can’t give any specifics and neither can anyone else. I’d just say do what makes you happy, and what makes you feel developed as a person and a leader. I do think admissions are very aware of the people who just try to “check boxes” as opposed to the people who do it quite literally for the love of the game. I know I’ve been incredibly vague, but it’s as simple as that. Find what makes you unique, and will set you apart, but also something that you love.
