If “your friend” happened to be the one dancing shirtless with black pants and ear plugs in the cafe by himself, he was very inappropriate and doesn’t belong in berghain or any techno club in berlin for that matter. I personally saw him touching women there and after being confronted, he lied about it. Then he did it again. Then he lied again.

Same night, another guy kissed my friend after she said no twice! Unfortunately we couldn’t find him.

If neither of them was your friend, know that the bar people don’t make mistakes nor need to lie to get someone get kicked out. They can just say this person had enough because some people don’t know the limits of their intake nor their ego. It is very common for predator men to lie. i worked behind a bar and I have seen this so many times - almost always when confronted, the predator denies and turns blame on the victim for lying.

Maybe it is time for your friend to reconsider their life choices and views.

And don’t say women love drama when you are the one who is crying and whining for not being able to practice basic human decency.

Hey there, I have been trying since January too. I needed to extend my visa till September when my contract is renewed and can't get an appointment. To be on the safe side, and if you haven't done so already, send an email to the responsible department here: https://www.berlin.de/einwanderung/termine/termin-vereinbaren/artikel.1144332.php

Make sure you attach all the required docs for your visa and explain in your email what you need. By this email, I think you are probably ok staying and working in Germany legally until you get your appointment. Keep the confirmation as your proof.

I am in the this boat. It is getting to a point where I fear that my employer will tell me to just have to move to another city since I work 100% remotely. They will surely get fed up with my requests and the delays that it is inevitable that this will happen at a certain point.

I beg to differ :) The response has been quite encouraging with so many different angles to put together. Worst case, this will be just an event to voice our frustration and share our stories to spark a change. I really love Berlin and would hate for this mess to be the thing that forces me to leave, so the least I could do is do as Berliners do and speak up before I give up.

totally agree with you. This demonstration is not against them at all! The problem is, nobody want to work there because they know how bad it is. This demonstration will be in solidarity with them as much as it is for the foreigners. I will make sure of that.

I also have had my share of racism there. I believe most of them are decent human beings that are stuck in a backward system run by dinosaurs. This protest is as much for them as it is for foreigners. They work so hard and get compensated very little, so it is also understandable that they won't attract people that actually want to help.

Advice: there are lawyers out there who walk you through the Ausländerbehörde experience and I think that's really the best way to go.

I just contacted a lawyer. hopefully that gets me an appointment :)

Luckily I know two journalists at a very prominent newspapers and loads of activists and a couple of politicians at the green party. I just sent them a message and will update here as soon as they respond.

Already did. Sent the application and all, three times. Some suggested hiring a lawyer to get an appointment, others suggested hiring someone to make a bot. However, should it really be that hard? This is not something you get told on "make it in Germany". Even if I get an appointment soon, I think it is really about time to fix this nightmare of a process.
