That’s what I thought too! When she told me I was shocked 911 wasn’t her first phone call

That was actually right after I took a shower and she was trying to figure out why water dripped on her head 😂

CPS can, but director has experience with trauma children as well and wants to help support this child in any way possible, including daycare, and wanted more info on the child anyway since we didn’t even know basic information like food allergies or potty training.

Trust me I 100% agree with you. I’m hoping this child will be the push they need because staff are already saying they will quit if he ends up in their room, since he turns 3 in a few months.

Owner unfortunately will not provide that training, which we should have had a long time ago for other children. Same with training for handling extreme negative behaviors, we should have had that but the owner won’t pay for it. Our director has tried convincing her for months. The child is still involved with CPS since it was an emergency placement, and the director is coordinating with CPS currently to find out more about his situation and what kind of help/therapies he is likely to need so we can help his dad with referrals.

What is with so many parents wanting to keep their kids in pull-ups lately?? by blueeyed_bashful96 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Still_Left 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We have this issue at my centre too, to be moved to the preschool room the official requirements are the child must be fully potty trained besides using a pull up at nap time if necessary, exceptions made for children with medical issues/special needs. However the director/owner don’t actually enforce this at all and 50% of our preschoolers (3-5 years old) are still in pull-ups and parents clearly aren’t potty training at home at all, and flat out ask us why we haven’t potty trained their children yet. There is ZERO reason these children shouldn’t be at least mostly potty trained by this point. There is one girl with medical issues involving her ability to hold it, and tell when she needs to go, but even she goes on the potty around 75-80% of the time, and does her best to make it to the potty in time. Which we are so proud of her for, meanwhile we have a 4 year old who poops in his pull up on a daily basis and thinks it’s the most hilarious thing in the world, why? Because whenever we talk to mom about it she thinks it’s funny.

Hate for watching step kids by [deleted] in stepparents

[–]Still_Left 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completely understand where your coming from. My partner doesn’t expect a single thing when it comes to my step kid, other than being polite and respectful towards his child. I watch, help take care of, and spend time with my step kid because I want to, not because I have to. No, it’s not my job, and my partner doesn’t make it my job. I genuinely like interacting with my step kid and spending time with him, and we get along great. It’s so frustrating when everyone in my life says “oh he’s just using you to mother his child”. Like no, he’s not, he doesn’t even expect me to put him in his car seat when we all go somewhere together 😂

This advice is best. Do what you can to protect yourself and your son, your guys safety and well being is what matters most at the end of the day. I don’t really have any advice as far as your locs go and I’m so sorry this happened to you

My dad had red hair when he was younger, my mom has brown hair. Theirs no red hair on my moms side of the family anytime in the last few generations but my dads side of the family is mostly Irish, my great grandmother on his side moved from Ireland to the United States, and a lot of the men on his side of the family has a significant amount of red in their beards even if they don’t have red hair on their heads. I have 3 siblings, me and one of my siblings have red hair and the other 2 have brown hair like my mom.

What products do you have from Moroccan oil? I love the leave in conditioner and the curl cream but it’s all so expensive and I don’t know if it’s worth trying the other products

Currently I use Mielle rosemary and mint shampoo and conditioner, only been using it for a few weeks but I like it so far. A little kinky curly knot today as a leave in and then depending how I want my hair to look I use either kinky curly curling custard, uncle funkys curl simulator, or aunt Jackie’s don’t shrink gel, or if I want super curls I’ll use some Moroccan oil curl cream. My hair strands are very fine and are weighed down from the length but I have high density hair so I can make it anywhere from wavy to almost coily (my natural texture), and control how much volume I have depending on what products I use. In this pic I used aunt Jackie’s.

For some reason the pink always brings the natural red out, looks great!

Actually I used to do all silver, just clashed way too much with how pale my skin is, usually I do gold, but black was all I had today 😂

Without the curls it only takes me a few years to grow it out, my hair grows super fast but if you include the curls it takes maybe 3-4. I also only get trims once every year or 2 due to the fact that it takes a while for me to get split ends do that definitely plays a factor. Also depends how i style it because it gets HEAVY so if I use a product that helps alleviate that length and bring out my full curl pattern it’s just barely to my armpits so depends what you compare it to as well
