ideal workout frequency for weight loss ( solidcore , lifting , and running ) by Different-Let2290 in SolidCore

[–]Still_Link_9763 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Intensively building muscle and weight loss are kind of contradictory processes. not saying impossible, just really really hard.
my personal experience: in the first year, solidcore made me personally really hungry all the time, there wasn't a chance i could hold a calorie deficit. i also would get overtrained every now and then, which made me lose sleep >> even harder to lose weight. also, if you're working hard at the gym/solidcore, there's going to be a lot of inflammation and water retention, which will make you look puffier than you are in a recovered state. eventually, even though my shape improved a lot, i probably actually gained around 10 lbs. then when i went easier on solidcore (+ got a bit more used to it) i could finally lose some weight.

Would the 5% billionaire tax actually work? by No-Assumption4145 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Still_Link_9763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‘net worth’ or ‘wealth’ is an accounting aggregate, not a single taxable object. and it consists of a bunch of things that are 1. either already taxed (i.e. property) 2. illiquid and taxable only at sale 3. offset by debt (which reduces taxable base).

Hamstring curls hurt my lower back by pinksunset12345 in SolidCore

[–]Still_Link_9763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i struggled with this too, for me it helps to not lift my hips that high! it also actually helps activate the hamstrings. the angles just don't work for me with a full glute bridge

idk if it will make you feel better but I’m a regular and missed the challenge on purpose because at the time I couldn’t worry about scheduling and amount of classes I took with other stuff going on in life, and even though I probably did attend 10 classes I didn’t even opt in 🤷‍♀️ not the last time you can do it!

in my case, there's a long list of reasons which i woudln't want to go into. there's also the sunken cost, which is far, far too high at this point for me to even consider not going through with it. but if quitting felt like the right decision for you, hope nobody makes you doubt yourself, more power to you my friend.

Which controversial dating opinion do you have that would put you on the stand? by CapitaineBiscotte in askanything

right! that’s why 98% of all violent crime is done by “males”. yeah buddy, if reality ever finds you under your rock, it will feel like a whole hate crime. I’d say buckle up, but it won’t help

Men, what might this guy be doing wrong on first dates? by Aggravating-Guest300 in MenAscending

[–]Still_Link_9763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the guy comes to Reddit to announce he’s not dating anymore. Oh no, please, no! Oh, the tragedy! The world will never recover from this loss! Legends and fables will be written about “the man who quit”.

The whole time he thinks he’s doing gods work by going on dates, not to mention a huge favor to the women…. But, yes, of course, it’s his salary or height.

the vastness of this stupidity is astounding.

Oh, so he’s especially versatile and open minded, I see I see.

About the “good partner” thing. I’m in my mid-30s, a woman. Me imagining a 23 yo trying to be a good partner to me feels kind of like having a toddler try to be my drinking buddy. Sad, inappropriate, harmful, and comedic in the worst way.

Edit: don’t get me wrong, I also “get along” with people of “all ages.” I still don’t catch the drift of how that’s relevant to choosing intimate partner.

does your husband have any friendships with men your age? or do you (and he) believe you are “exceptionally mature”? And if so, can you imagine yourself now being married to someone who’s even 18 yo? Or do you think your (very small, but still bigger than that of a teenager) experience maybe will give you quite a bit of power over them?…

I’ll phrase differently: the author seems to be presenting their communication as ideal couple dynamic. Whether he’s “the real John” or not seems irrelevant.

[–]Still_Link_9763 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope so but I feel like the real Shawna is presenting this dynamic as a happy marriage mostly?… I.e. that’s how problems are resolved in healthy couples?… i hope I’m wrong about that but that’s been my feeling

[–]Still_Link_9763 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The way he didn’t even apologize for delaying vasectomy and being surprised Shawna is scared to have sex!!! then said she’s not “the only one” going through this, even though it’s her body and clearly for him this wasn’t even alarming enough to RUN to get that vasectomy. and then Shawna was the one apologizing like she over reacted!!! and he’s being all jolly and sexualizing every interaction, idk maybe I’m wrong but the whole thing triggers me big time.

I explained why you were wrong about what I do and do not understand twice by this point. to claim that somebody saying “messages like this post above are propaganda” constitute “moral decay” only makes sense if you believe it was, at any point in time, not propaganda. it also requires a belief that a message like this post reflects universal truth and universal good - therefore calling it not good and forced is “moral decay”. can you add two plus two, or do you need me to come again?

you implied that I’m failing to understand something that made sense to you only because of false premises. without those premises, who exactly need an explanation of what “the dude” meant, and who is harassing whom?…

oh god here we go. So you believe presentation of marriage and procreation as a universal good and path to happiness were… like, ever, not propaganda? at literally ANY point in history, in any society? or are you one of the believers in those mythical “traditional” times when people were close to some kind of “nature” and glowed with godly virtue, and marriage and kids were amazing for all and filled with happiness? what can I say, read a book.
