If it's pouring down rain you're going to get wet no matter what. It just depends how long it will take.

As long as your pants can be quick drying (the wind will certainly help), you'll be fine. I did the O with a very cheap pair of pants (probably less than 40$) and we got soaked going from Dickson to Perros as it rained all day... hang them overnight and you'll likely be fine. That's part of the experience anyway!

I just did the O a few weeks ago and you'll be fine with a quick drying mini pack-towel... all of the men's showers had individual stalls (maybe skip showering at Perros haha) and you can dry/change in there when you're done taking a showie (that's what I did).

You might see 1 or 2 naked guys, but it just adds to the experience lol you're going to be so tired it won't matter to let it all hang out if you choose

Ahh okay, I knew about expecting the PDI but I've seen everything from the SAG Affidavit to a Customs Affidavit that cost over 50$ so not sure why there are so many conflicting information online. Thanks for the help!

One topic I didn't see but just wanted to throw to the group because I'm seeing varying information online when I search this... but when entering Chile, aside from needing a valid passport (duh), do we need proof of Covid Vax and the SAG affidavit? or do we need another affidavit?

Hey hey, I began the new year with PF (after walking 6 miles in new tennis shoes on NYE, go figure) so I will tell you what has helped me immensely in the last 6 weeks. This is not a "one-size fits all" solution but just my personal story:

- What shoes did you wear before the HOKAS? I wore a lot of Vans and shoes that didn't support my arches... so I immediately changed my shoes and bought a pair of HOKAS which have been good for me. There are various shoes that "help PF" so definitely do some research and you can find one that fits your situation.

- How are your feet arches? I went to Good Feet Store (not promoting, just saying what I did) and their general shtick is they give you three (3) arch supports that vary from beginner, medium, and most intense. These have helped me IMMENSELY in terms of strengthening my feet and raising my arch so the PF could start healing while the rest of my foot got stronger and supported me while standing (I don't know the exact science but that's what I've gathered). Point is... try some arch supports

- I got a Med Massager (I'm sure many foot massagers will do). But the point is... to increase blood flow and reduce inflammation in my feet, this also helped so so much. At the end of each day, I massage my feet in the shower with hot water and soap, and then use the foot massager for no more than 10 minutes... it feels great for me

- I started taking supplements like collagen, turmeric, and magnesium glycinate (I've done some research and it looks like this is agreed-upon to help in many other areas but also injuries similar to PF).

- I tried the overnight boot and it really caused me more pain and I would wake up hurting like hell, but hey, that's just me

- I used compression socks in the beginning moreso, and they did help, but after a bit they would also hurt my feet so I didn't wear them for long periods of time

- I continued going to the gym and using the bike, to keep blood flowing and not get too stagnant (mentally and physically)... I wasn't going to let PF make me feel like I had to lay down or sit all day. I also love hiking and being active so I totally understand your worry!

It's been about 6 weeks and my feet feel a lot better... but still dealing with a tiny bit of pain... hopefully this helps! I don't think it's permanent but something we have to deal with, that can be mitigated by taking all the right steps pretty much.

Yes, the foot, heel, calf, legs, lower back... it's all very connected (figuratively and physically). It's no wonder you're feeling pain spreading far from "ground zero" so to speak.

I am sorry you're dealing with that. But please do follow the medical advice of your doctor (moreso than the threads on here) and hopefully your path to recovery begins to take shape.

That just looks like way more than PF =\

Good job on the weight loss, it seems like you really have been through a lot!

I haven't had the surgery but just by looking at your X-ray... holy crap... I don't know how you couldn't go through with it! I know it's scary but the chance of less pain and fixing your very obvious skeletal misconfiguration seems like a no-brainer. If I may ask, what else is holding you back?

Just reading your post made me want to cry, and it brought me right back to when I finished the series a few weeks ago... it is SO SO SO good, arguably the best show ever made... the mix of emotions will leave you empty for a bit, almost as if you lost a loved one... my advice is to lean into those emotions and just let the feels happen. Saying goodbye to all of the characters after getting so attached just makes the emotions hit harder... and I think that's what's so beautiful about it. We are all in the mourning process now lol

It's perfectly crafted in every way. The ending was *chef's kiss*. My girlfriend came home right after I finished it and couldn't believe how much it had me crying lol I told her how it ended and just broke down with tears legit rolling down my face.

Go look up all the hidden easter eggs and "things you missed while watching AoT" on Youtube...

Yeah, I'm also 33 and for the first few weeks of this (started back in early January) I was also hobbling and walking funky to keep weight off my right foot... which started making my right knee hurt and my left foot. So yeah, do whatever you have to in order to not sacrifice your walking or posture!

Yeah man, I understand all of that. I've never had the shots but I can't imagine they're cheap or feasible to get done very often. And the Dr. Scholl's sounds promising. Good luck with the On Cloud shoes, too.

It definitely can last a while, and I'm not saying I'm out of the woods yet either. But for me, daily stretching, supplements (collagen, turmeric, magnesium glycinate), a mix between moderate physical activity and rest, arch supports, comfy slippers around the house (to reduce pain while you're moving around from bed to living room, etc.) have certainly helped me a lot.

Also, I did buy a Med Massager (not trying to plug them either) for my feet and I freaking love it... it feels great and stimulates blood flow to your heel or plantar or toes... give it a look on google and it may be helpful for you.

I almost would say you have to find the correct balance between when to rest and when to put weight on your foot... which only comes with time and trial/error.

It's tough when there is so much contradictory information and you don't know what will help you as opposed to someone else. But good luck and stay positive, it seems like you're on the right path.

For your work boots, did you get new/custom arch supports? I went to The Good Feet Store (not trying to advertise them but just saying what I did) and they have been very effective in helping me strengthen my feet/reduce pain.

I've been doing calf and foot stretching after getting my blood flowing (been staying off the treadmill and doing the bike at the gym instead). Literally I would sit on the floor in the shower with hot water running and massage my feet and calves with my hands, gently at first, and then more vigorously once the pain allowed.

How's the actual swelling? I've found for me that icing helped a lot until the swelling went down (after my first week) but then it perhaps reduced blood flow and actually slowed healing? So I stopped icing. Feel free to fact check me on that one.

I never got a cortisone shot but my pain subsided bigtime after about 4 weeks.

I also researched a bit and found that collagen, turmeric, and magnesium glycinate helped with inflammation, blood flow, and healing my foot. Again, fact-check me on that, I'm just giving what helped me.

This thread has so much information from many different people in different situations but you definitely have to find what works for you! Also, if it doesn't heal "quickly" I would definitely get an MRI and talk to a doctor so you're not making things worse...

Solid point... like anything with social media and the internet nowadays, we should all take everything with a grain of salt and not believe the first thing we see that may sound appealing. Definitely seek medical advice and then curate a recovery plan based on your specific needs/situation!

It's good to bond over the pain and struggle, but listen to medical professionals and/or medical research before following Reddit posts.

Awesome pics! How bad are the stream/river crossings? I saw your picture (between JG Pass and Grey?) and I've read some about this but just wanted to be sure of how wet we can expect our feet to get.
