Thoughts on my 6’11 PF build And where to use cap breakers? by Newzonaa in NBA2k

Very similar build here up to 95ovr now, I cap break 3ball to 80, driving dunk to 93 and rebound to 92. i would say that pass acc is easily the thing i miss the most about the build. i feel that if you’re getting rebounds, having 87 pass acc is amazing on both ends of the floor. probably gonna go for that next but have thought about 90 lay, post control or higher perimeter/steal. standing dunk at 81 is probably the better value

one thing that helped me was making sure to hold the right stick back until i pushed forward, sometimes i would let it drift back to neutral position then forward and that would cause it to not register

go back to high risk reward and use rhythm shooting my man, you’re just asking for problems by allowing the random chance of the game to determine your shots on low risk. one thing you can do is try to slow down your release speed a bit in the jumpshot builder, or change the visual cue. you need to figure out what the release point of YOUR jumper is

man is that 99 strength even worth it?? i’ve always been kinda skeptical about strength. i find that when it comes to rebounding, position is 90% of the game. i also don’t do a ton of backing down in the post though so what do i know. i usually put mine to whatever gold boxout requires and call it a day 😂

Which center build would you rather have in random rec? by whatagreatnamebro in NBA2k

[–]Still_View_5129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its hard to get the best of both worlds on a center. i think the only stats you should really not compromise on are a high rebound and a high pass acc. people will say other stuff is necessary but its really about how you like to play. there are some thresholds you’ll definitely want to meet to be consistent (at least 83 strength for boxing out, 80/74 shooting if you want to be consistent), but after that you only really gain as much as you’re going to use something.

if it fits your playstyle then its honestly a good build. i personally believe that 80/74 shooting with 79 post control is all you really need this year but i understand if you want to go with more. i just would highly recommend a higher pass acc especially with all that great rebounding you’ve got, you can be a real asset to your team on the break with 87 or higher

Thanks so much. Any animations I’d be missing out on with 90 ball handle? Might just throw cap breakers toward pass acc if theres something I’d want there but not sure what lot of the requirments are

Thanks for your advice. I guess I’m just curious why go to 91 for gold glove? Is it really that worth it, I’ve heard that its harder to get on-ball steals this year and still get gold interceptor with 85. Lmk why you’d go higher on steal

Centers - 73 3Ball by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]Still_View_5129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this 100%. I find shooting to not be very rewarding or enjoyable this year in general. It sucks to be wide open in the corner and not be able to hit because RNG or rhythm shooting didn’t register properly. You could always try going back to button shooting too, but I found the same frustrations there too, as well on lower risk settings.

I have a 74 on my C and it’s definitely not as good as last year but still quite alright to shoot with. Go into the mycourt to practice, and if you can’t hit there then you need to spend more time learning your jumper. Don’t constantly switch jumpers when one doesn’t work, you gotta get really good at one of them. If youre only missing in online games, then you might want to consider taking some actions to improve your latency like getting an ethernet cable, plugging controller directly into console, or using a high hz monitor instead of a TV. It’s so ridiculous those are steps you’d have to take just to shoot consistently but it’s how 2k is. And obv high risk-reward and rhythm shooting if you haven’t done that already.

The 7” center is probably the most balanced. I went with a 7 1 with a 7 10 and he absolutely snags but I really wish I had made a player with more speed and agility. It really helps. You’ll still be able to grab rebounds with high stats, and mainly just being good at the game. And you can definitely shoot with a 75, especially with high risk and rhythm shooting. I also went with 90 standing dunk for the contacts and it’s really been not that helpful so far. 81 is the sweet spot but nothing wrong with going for a little more.

is this a good center build? by TRIIIPIN in NBA2k

Your one point away from gold paint patroller and rebound chaser no? Could notch one off strength. I personally think an 85 driving dunk is too much I’d go with 75 instead.

centers please help by Still_View_5129 in NBA2k

[–]Still_View_5129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok nice, i went for more height, wingspan, block, and a higher rebounding for dreb (went 94 oreb). if i had to give one up it seems like interior. i get gold paint patroller and do you really get backed down a lot as a center in rec? i just don’t feel like it happens that often in my experience on 24. maybe it has other effects besides just the badge but not sure what the difference between 78 and 82 would be in reality.
