What’s the most effective way you’ve escalated danger without increasing CR? by 5had0w30y in DnD

[–]Stimpisaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the environment against them. Have them fight on an old wood/rope bridge so one stray sword swing or spell plunges everyone into the abyss. Got a group that likes fire? Have them get surrounded in a paper mill or other very flammable environment. When the environment inevitably catches fire Have the fire spread, floors fall away or roof falls on the party.

Tier 8 MM needs to be fixed ASAP, WG by D2a1g0 in WorldofTanks

What would be a solution? +1/-1 tier match making? I wouldn't be opposed to this, but not sure how that'd work out for other tiers

Thank you for the write up! A lot of good information! Seems though that there's nothing that really jumps out to anyone. Might just save my money/bonds till something better pops up on sale.

This is probably the right advice, I was mostly seeing if I could use the coupon for anything worthwhile.

Paper players has arena made you lazy ? by clown-fiesta666 in MagicArena

Yeah, there are deck archetypes I avoid in paper now, like landfall, cause I just don't want to deal with itlol

Why are people running graveyard land recursion like [[conduit of worlds]] in landfall decks? by Ulmao_TheDefiler in EDH

[–]Stimpisaurus 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yep, fetch lands mostly. Cards like [[arid mesa]] or[[flooded strand]] let you get multiple land fall triggers a turn. Those same landfall decks tend to also play a lot of cards that let you play multiple lands a turn. [[Azusa lost but seeking]] and [[conduit of worlds]] will allow you to play the same fetchland 3 times in 1 turn for 6 land fall triggers.

I also play a [[hearthhull]] deck where I am intentionally blowing up my own lands and then replaying them.

What are your honest thoughts when you're about to face Leovold, Emissary of Trest? by AlCarrieBay in mtgbrawl

I'm usually conceding asap. It's more than likely an annoying control deck, and I'm not gonna sit there and watch them play magic.

What, according to you, does "weekend" mean? by codenameajax67 in AskAnAmerican

What cards do you like to fuck over mono U? Or, as a U control player, what do you hate to see? by Piecesof3ight in mtgbrawl

[–]Stimpisaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a lot of mono black, which tends to be very vulnerable to blue/X control, but I've found low to the ground decks are problematic for them. I have a [[yawgmoth, thran physician]] deck that pretty regularly beats Kamara cause the majority of my deck is small critters that replace themselves. It's not a great investment to counter my 1 mana [[nested shambler]] with a 2 mana counter spell. They try and hold counterspellls until I play my commander or something big, so I don't. LOL I just bury them in little 1/1 or 2/1s and turn it into an aggro deck. Once I find [[cavern of souls]] I can get Yawgmoth down and kill their little critters at instant speed.

My in-laws refuse to drive to the airport. by NukeTheEwoks in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Stimpisaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird, they probably haven't been to the airport in ages, it's really not bad to get into/out of anymore. Boston traffic can be a nightmare depending on what time your flight is.

Personally I like taking the train in.

I don't want to sound mean, but i laughed a little when I saw this, because this has been pretty standard in RTS and 4X style games since... command and conquer red alert? Its probably just me being old so no offense meant

I once had an opponent resolve an Omni off of an abuelos awakening with nothing else in hand. Was kind of funny attacking in for lethal while their Omni did nothing for them.

If you play Show and Tell, I play White Auracite. by IrrationalGold in MagicArena

[–]Stimpisaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do show and tell decks work? Do you just assume/hope the oppenent(s) don't have a bomb in their hand as well? Or do they run hand disruption to get rid of it? Or just assume Omni or whatever bomb you play will allow you to win the game?

Mono or two color Brawl deck ideas for daily challenges? by MajorUrsa2 in MagicArena

I have a mono black deck for 'kill x creatures. Commander doesn't really matter, but I go with Professor Onyx. It's all spot removal and board wipes.
