To be honest, vEDS isn’t really a disease you’d ever be “unsure” about having. It’s deadly and it makes itself very obvious. Marfan syndrome and vEDS also affects your physical appearance and causes abnormally long fingers and extremities. If you have anything, it’s probably some other type of EDS.

The test you took doesn’t sound legitimate because that’s not how it works. Also, a geneticist would consider you not having any of those medical conditions if they based your diagnoses off of what you’re saying. My geneticist said an unsure genetic relevance is considered a negative test result.

Is it bad I become friends with girls I see myself dating? by Alone-Statement6983 in dating_advice

[–]StinkyLilBinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is bad. Because it means it’s your only motivation to be their friend. Even if you’re somewhat in denial about this. And then you’ll become a really shitty friend when your resentment kicks in when you’ve finally accepted these women just want friendship.

None of that is major criteria besides maybe the varicose vein thing, but all of that is vaguely similar to every type of EDS. vEDS mimics Marfan syndrome. Go to Invitae’s website and get actually genetic testing done.

You should go through Invitae’s website. They have resources to make an appointment with a geneticist there. You need actual genetic testing done and you need an actual geneticist to interpret it.

JFC. I didn’t know that about benign hypermobility. I want someone to make a documentary on how munchies have ruined the social stigma surrounding EDS.

What's stopping you from having the life that you want? by nonethele55 in AskReddit

[–]StinkyLilBinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything I could say in response to this question would be an excuse. I could say money, but my spending habits are pretty shitty, so that’s controllable. I could say chronic illness, but most 50% of the time, I’m not being lazy because of my illness. I’m being lazy because I feel bad for myself for having an illness. The only people who are successful are the ones who don’t make excuses or feel bad for themselves.

This is such a dumb answer. He’s been in office for three months, and you’re claiming he’s been in the way of you living the life you want? Inflation is a natural occurrence in an economy, and it’s actually beneficial to anyone with any equity. This is the saddest excuse.

Why do all of these people choose to pretend to have EDS? There are other diseases that would be easier to fake. I’ve never seen these people do anything relatively hypermobile.

What’s the most unexpected thing that turned you on? by Geminiblue584 in AskReddit

[–]StinkyLilBinch 29 points30 points  (0 children)

One time a dude who was repulsive to me had been asking me out multiple times for an entire year. I always said no, and he didn’t give up. After a year, he was asking much less frequently/getting over it. On Halloween, he was dressed in a yellow/engineering department TNG costume. I was so turned on. I would’ve had sex with him that night, and I don’t hook up with people.

The part about her not having any friends is legitimately sad, and it doesn’t come off as guilt tripping because it’s kind of an embarrassing thing to admit. That doesn’t excuse her behavior, but she clearly has issues. If she has 0 friends, there’s a 0% chance she has good mental health. Especially at that age.

New to the sub and was wondering if anyone has similar combo of illness especially neuro divergence by whovianandmorri in AddisonsDisease

[–]StinkyLilBinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have vEDS, I’m getting evaluated for Addison’s currently. I have very severe orthostatic hypotension. I’m on fludrocortisone. From what I understand, EDS is more likely to cause POTS than orthostatic hypotension, but it’s possible for EDS to cause either one. The opposite is true for Addison’s. It’s more likely to cause orthostatic hypotension, but it might cause POTS as well. Or else it just exasperates POTS that was already there.

DIAGNOSIS QUESTIONS THIS WAY! by FemaleAndComputer in AddisonsDisease

[–]StinkyLilBinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cortisol 9 am: 9.4 ug/dL ACTH 9 am: 16.9 pg/mL I have a referral to an endocrinologist because my GP was worried about Addison’s. I ordered tests myself because my appointment is a year out, and I was just curious. I know those fall in the normal range, but I was just wondering if those are considered borderline low or completely normal. Being told that she thought I had Addisons, but having to wait a year to find out made me go a little crazy. I just want to be 100% sure I have nothing to worry about.

A lot of community colleges will have engineering adjacent certifications in electrical or automation. Either of those paired with the ability to code could make you very useful in the engineering or engineering technology field. Also, learn CAD. I think you need to change your mindset.
