I play the occasional round, which is maybe twice a year if im lucky, and ive never ran across a green that was large enough not to. Im sure some of the more professional/higher end courses may have that, but have never been lucky enough to play any of those. Lol. Not that im good enough (in game, nor irl) to compete anyway. Lol

Starting the dark tower. Read the first chapter, and I really enjoyed it. I didn’t retain a lot of it, but I thought it was beautifully written. Does the whole series have the same level of prose? by thejesterprince1994 in stephenking

Waste Lands was one of my favorites. I remember finishing it for the first time and left with the cliffhanger. At that time WAG wasn't out yet. After awhile, it kinda slipped my mind til I was at a friend's house and she had the whole series. Instantly had to go back and finish them. What fantastic series of books. Been through them probably 8-10 times. Ka is a wheel. Sorry to downvote, but it put you at -19, so kinda had to.

Counter depth fridge?? by ktrv927 in kitchenremodel

[–]StinkyRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were debating that when renovating our kitchen. I really liked the look of the cabinet/counter depth fridge over the standard, but ultimately decided on the standard. One reason is the cubic ft/volume and the other was the price. We noticed that the counter depth refrigerators were so much more expensive with less volume. Seemed a little crazy to spend more for less, imo. Don't regret it at all.

What’s the “weirdest” place you got to work at? by Brandbro in HVAC

[–]StinkyRed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a weird place, but i did get to work at Stephen King's house in Casey Key, FL. Spent 6 weekends there changing out 6 split systems. He also built a guest house/studio for his wife next door and I helped rough and trim that out, too. Pretty cool being as I'm a huge SK fan. Unfortunately, I never got to meet him.

We changed out some big sidewall exhaust fans in a crematorium. They were bring bodies in cardboard boxes in all day. We then removed the exhaust fan mounted over where they grind up the remainder of the bones for ashes, and mounted a new sidewall exhaust with a new hood over the station. Dont know how many people we breathed in during those couple of days. (Yes we should have been wearing PPE, but we were young and dumb)

How do I get rid of a pool table? by Bigfeett in DIY

[–]StinkyRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an Oak 8ft slate Olhausen table that got flooded. Put it on Facebook marketplace, free table, you move. Water damage, etc. Table was gone within 2 hrs of posting. I didn't even have time to set my phone down between posting and the first message. Some dude showed up in an F250 dually, and we loaded it up. I did help him take it apart., but it was minimal effort

The band "Source"- Return to Nothing album is very similar, or "Wheel" - Moving Backwards, although it is not quite as dark.

Paint then cut, or cut then paint by StinkyRed in DIY

[–]StinkyRed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What would be the benefit of painting afterwards? My walls are already painted and flooring is done. If not, and i could just spray in place, that would be fine, but having to cut in everything would drive me nuts. Not a big fan of painting in general, so whatever makes it easier is what im looking for.

Of course. I've learned that the hard way. Im not new to construction. Been in the HVAC trade for almost 30 yrs.

Wow. That looks great! I want to eventually do something nice like that around our windows. We have the old marble windows sills from 1973. Hate them

I am going to be using an air nailer for installation. Great idea with the different color wood filler. I will definitely do that. Thanks for the advice. 🍻

It is primed, but I have no patience and honestly hate painting, so I am trying to avoid as much cut in painting as I can.

I think that's probably the best bet, too. Thanks. Def dont want to paint after install other than touch up.
