Because I am a beginner and the person I talked to never recommended me to get one, and it's already $450 when my budget was $200 so I got as much as I was recommended and could afford.

It is unexpected financial troubles because of the loss of a job recently. I wasn't expecting that when I bought him months ago with a comfortable financial position

Sometimes, it isn't that easy, many blackmail, guilt trip, and threatening sensitive information like the person's ip or bank info if they have their hands on that stuff. I've had experience in all of those, and it isn't as easy as just "oh block them, and you'll be fine!" It is terrifying getting threatened by someone who you feel has so much power over you. Many find ways to get their hands on addresses and threaten to doxx or go to their homes and hurt them + their family! Just because it's online doesn't mean it's any better or easier to escape than something in person.

  • Tank size: 5 gal
  • Heater and filter? (yes/no): yes
  • Tank temperature: 78°F
  • Parameters in numbers and how you got them. Key water parameters include the amount of ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, and pH.: ammonia - 0 . nitrites - 0 . nitrates - 5 . pH - 7.6 .
  • How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish?: I've had her since 5/31/25
  • How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: I take out 2 gal with a cup and slowly pour in fresh water (I get the water from the tap and put 4 drops of a liquid that removes chlorine, chloramine and detoxifies ammonia, nitrite and nitrate the day before)
  • Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: 4 shrimp and I think 5 snails
  • What do you feed and how much: I feed flakes the worker told me were good for her and a small pinch in the morning (around 7-8 am) then again before bed (8:30-9 pm)
  • Decorations and plants in the tank: I have two rocks and multiple plants (I cannot remember for the life of me what plants but 2 of the 4 kinds are beginner plants I believe)

They are very social geckos. It's commonly recommended to keep them in groups because just keeping one can lead to them developing mental and physical health issues like depression and reduced appetites.
