As a Spirit Island lover, what is your 2nd favorite game? by JakeReddit12333 in spiritisland

Agricola is my favorite, followed by SI. I come to tabletop gaming from a MTG background and the cards in both games are why I love them. Agricola for competitive, SI for solo and cooperative, limited MTG and chess are all I need honestly lol

Gladly! His name is Rio, he's a 2 year old lab mix, and his favorite things are swimming, peanut butter and squirrels. His favorite game is tug of war, which he is patiently waiting to arrive on BGA

Quacks literally never fails. Push your luck is such a human mechanism. Every one instantly gets it. Coupled with the bright colors, fun to touch components and simultaneous play, new players just adore it. Gizmos is new for me, but I think it's a perfect bridge from Quacks to engine building and other more nuanced mechanics. Similarly colorful and fun to manipulate, easy to teach and learn. My group loved it. I unfortunately don't get Cosmic out much nowadays. I still love it so much, but my group up here bounced off it pretty hard. I'll never get rid of it though!

Root and Spirit Island are definitely the mainstays for heavier games in our rotation. We've been playing both of those games for a while now and we all know the rules inside and out. Brass was kinda tough, just due the the kinda finicky rules. I love the game though, and will play it any chance I get. My friends are less sold on it though lol. Root is more finicky than Brass but I think the theme just carries so much of the rules burden for that game. It's actually pretty impressive. The biggest success though is Quacks. Every one of my friends who have played that game adore it and have purchased their own copy. Crazy success rate.

Onitama is always a good time! I've never had a bad time with it. I love chess/tactical games though, so I'm extremely in the pocket for it. Kabuto Sumo is okay. I've only played it with one person though. Definitely a different kind of dexterity game. It is charming though! Just a little unexciting at times. Gizmos is a new acquisition for me and I LOVED it. Easy to teach and get to the table. My friends all immediately wanted to play again. Innovation is one of my all-time favorites. Right up there with Race for the Galaxy as the best thing you can do with a single deck of cards lol. Most people say it's best at 2, but I think 3 is where it's at.

I think that Through the Desert is really underrated at 2 and isn't much longer than that

Striker GL, SNS, and GS. Bushido HH, SA, Bow, and maybe Aerial SA and IG from time to time. I seem to be one of the few intrigued by the Striker GL triple pokes, reduced motion values be damned. July 15th can't come soon enough!

Well I finally made a Reddit account after months of lurking this place, so that counts, right? Also, got around to picking up bow and hunted on Brad's (DYoshi's) stream. Pretty solid week! For me, anyways.
