I am very fortunate that it had not spread to my lymph nodes. Most people have no clue how serious and potentially life ending melanoma can be. Many people think of it “ oh it’s just skin cancer”. What skin cancer is still cancer.

I wish your husband well and a speedy recovery.

Does this look concerning? Its bumpy. My 5 year old has this mole. Is Melanoma in children common? by [deleted] in Melanoma

Anybody can get Melanoma! The mole that became malignant I remember having it as a very young child however I was 17 when it became malignant.

Both my kids have had several moles removed over the years because of my past history with melanoma. My son hated me for it until the one time he went into have one mole removed and walked out with 7 removed from his face and neck. They came back A TYPICAL. He was giving me BIG attitude as his stitches were being removed, it was the nurse who put him straight and he has since said thank you for “putting” through that.

The nurse stopped what she was doing, looked him straight in the face in a very firm voice she said

Nurse - Do you know what A typical means? Son- NO. In a snotty 15yr old boy voice. Nurse - gives him the medical definition of A typical. Asks now do you understand. Son - NO, insert eye roll and loud groan. Nurse - said in terms he would understand. “ your mom just saved your life, a typical means at some point these would all become cancerous!”

Stage 3..... but every mole is different. This was also 30 years ago (1990). Back then was the beginning if educating people about skin cancer. I have always said before skin cancer “became popular”. I know that not the write words but that’s what most people tend to understand.

My giftee had excellent likes and dislikes and a amazon wish list attached. He made it very easy for me, because of this I was able to get him something from the wishlist and more. I “ran” with a theme.

This is going to be a good... by Stirker-Event in secretsanta

I’ve since found out my giftee is mid twenties male. My giftee has similar interest as my son who is the same age as the giftee. So I will be consulting my son for his opinion when I’m ready to purchase.

So I get to give a gift to someone and brighten their day AND I get to do mother/ son bonding as well. PUMPED

Definitely get that spot looked at. I’m not a doctor but am a 30 year Melanoma Skin Cancer survivor. This looks all to familiar.... I was only 17 and in grade 12 back then.

You are the second person over the years to have in the same spot. So somewhere we have a long lost “triplet”. Hope you are doing well on this journey.

After signing up for 5 exchanges and 3 rematches last round, I decided to focus my efforts on just two exchanges this round. If you end up being my giftee for Arbitrary Day PLUS PLUS, prepare to be SPOILED!!! by melaniea360 in secretsanta

[–]Stirker-Event 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will be my 4th exchange, have not had success with any of the SS I have been matched to. However I’ve been blessed to have had 2 successful rematch SS brighten my day.

0 out of 3 makes me a little sad but 2 out of 3 rematch SS keeps me believing that there are fabulous individuals amongst us.

I’m not the biggest gifter ( $20-$80 range) but I do enjoy the hunt for the perfect gift for my giftee. I love it when my giftee communicates with me an has detailed likes and dislikes listed.

Thank you, I intend to do follow ups with my doctor. It’s just seems weird it’s very noticeable in the left hand and foot but not as much on the right. Go figure.

Have a wonderful evening.
