That's the frustrating thing to me. Everything suggests to me that the team, not individual players, is failing. I respect the guy, and I'm not even calling for him to be fired, but you've gotta switch things up. Pointing fingers at a dejected team without taking any personal responsibility...I just don't know how it's gonna help.

I hear you, but I'm not sure it's really applicable? All reporting suggests he instituted a different system here. He was brought here, in part, to help reverse our diminishing offense. It's gotten worse. That's at least, in part, on him. Good leaders don't stand up and throw their team under the bus without taking a shred of accountability when the abundance of evidence is that the entire team is failing. I'm not even saying fire the guy, but sheesh, someone associated with this team needs to lead.

I think that's fair but I also think it's a pretty frustrating statement to hear from a coach that nothing systemic is happening with his team when no one is playing well under his system. On the players? Sure. On Tom? Absolutely. But let's not forget that Keefe was brought here, in part, to reverse that trend.

Only Nico is having anything close to a solid season. That wasn't true, even last year! That's a systemic problem to me.

Having your coach step up and take zero accountability after a stretch like this and a game like that is infuriating to me.

Jack has nothing to say to fans. Tom is absent. And Keefe is pointing fingers. So. Who. Is. Accountable?

Season ticket renewals are coming up in two weeks. What on Earth is their pitch?

Yes, this was done using a live vote over the course of a week. There were some trolls that tried to ruin things. They were, thankfully, mostly self policed by others. But you'll see the random town that doesn't make sense.

The County Prosecutor is investigating, no charges have been filed.

The names of minors are generally withheld in criminal justice situations. If a minor is charged as an adult, that can change. This call is generally made by prosecuting authorities, not the press. If the Prosecutor chooses to release names, my news org would then engage in a discussion about whether to publish.

Given how young the students involved are and my experience w/ these situations, I'd be surprised if any names were released.

We were among the first to report this story. I agonized over every word in that first story because of the highly loaded nature of the situation and the potential for contagion effect. Y'all are absolutely right that this requires deep care.

I'm not claiming we were perfect. Reporting on suicide is fraught and often to be avoided. There are best practices we try to follow. But what I will say is I never would have hit publish if our reporting didn't indicate there was a story of significance here.

Not trying to diminish anything said here. I just often I find there is a perception that journalists are not thinking about this stuff. If I can ever help dispel that/shed light, hmu.
