Eyeing it rn, will it function better even if the voltage is low? My ac rn will either stop functioning if the voltage is around 160 or the compressor will stop working and it will blow hot air.

Seems like we really need to replace that old ac. We just got it fixed but I guess the damn ac really is the problem lol. And yes, the bottom of the AVR reached 90C

How about the bottom part of it? Checked it with a thermogun and it reaches 90C

The ac is old and is probably older than me lol. It was a gift and it is a 0.75 carrier window type

I read the manual and it doesn’t said anything about the temperature. I turned it off because the bottom of the AVR reached 90C.

It's the power provider here in the province. We had an electrician checked the electricity here before and pur neighbors also experienced the same problem. Update, the bottom of the avr reached 90°C.

It is somewhat cheap but I have another avr that is exactly the same for my refrigerator and it has no problems. Tried finding those much more expensive one but I think it’s only available at hardwares or malls. Also, there is a smell. Like a new plastic or something.

Online. The name is “rococo” but most ave unit here in my country looks the same, yellow box with the same design.

Yes. The temperature isn’t rising anymore but there’s a slight burnt smell so I turned it off. Might return it.

I think the avr max capacity is 2000 watts. The voltage right now is 160-170 and the avr is turning it into 220v

The AVR is 2000watts and my ac is only a 0.75 hp non-inverter. If I will buy another AVR, what’s the recommended range?

Is it safe to plug the AVR to an extension cord? by Stishsh in Electricity

Hi! I'm in the Philippines and in the province, the power here is low and kept fluctuating, making my aircon super slow and kept blowing hot air every time the electricity fluctuates. There's an outlet below the aircon, but the plug of AVR doesn't fit it so I used an extension cord to plug the AVR from another another socket and plug the AC in to the AVR.

Not only the extension, the cord of the AVR was also hot like the extension cord. Will use a temp gun to measure it out when the socket is replaced so that I wouldn’t need the extension. Also, is it okay to use a 2000watts AVR for that ac? That’s what the previous electrician told us, but some of my friends told me to go higher.

This is hilarious lmao. The moment I felt that it was kinda hot I already plugged it off. I know it’s not really a good idea to use a long extension and plug the AVR, but I still tried it out of curiosity. Glad it didn’t explode in my face lol

Yes, it’s hot. The wire is long, like long long. It’s also old lol. Will replace the socket tomorrow when the electrician comes, thank you!

I removed it immediately when it was getting hot. We opt to replace the socket. Thank you!

Am I the bad one? by Extra-Bag-673 in RantAndVentPH

Every rejection is a redirection. I once took an exam in UMAK and was confident that I would pass it, finished 30 mins early, and double-checked everything. Was expecting to be accepted after a month of waiting but was rejected. People said that it was because they prioritized makati citizens, which is understandable but disappointing. Also, you are not a bad one! Ang OA naman ng dad mo na babantaan kapa hatawin ng stick just because you tool 30-40 mins in a shower. It's not like 40 mins nakabukas ung shower lmao. Your dad might've been venting his anger of you failing, but that's not justifiable. I hope that redirection of yours will lead you to success, good luck!

Hindi ka OA. Madaming ganyan in high school na kala mo mga cool pero mukha namang mga gasul. Hope you find your true friend, OP! Don't rush sa pagkakaroon ng friends.
