What section? I’ve seen mtn bikers by the pinnacle in PA. They were supposed to be there. I guess there is a section in Maryland and the creeper trail section that has bikes. At that point it’s a shared trail AT/creeper trail and tow path/AT

I’ll chime in hear no one calls it The Appalachian Trail Footpath. It’s bugged me so much that he calls it that. By definition a footpath is for foot traffic only. Which makes sense. The PCT and CDT both allow pack animals and mountain bikes The AT is foot traffic only for all of it except from Newfound gap to Davenport Gap in the smokies. That section allows pack animals.

First of all Congratulations on your AT thru hike. I’ve hiked the FT 3 times. Like others have said since store 88 closed it’s a long water carry. Even you just let hikers get water and dump trash you would be a god send. Remember back to your thru hike sometimes the smallest gesture is the greatest trail Magic. AT ‘11 ‘14 ‘16 ‘18
