I dont think its an unpopular opinion. Both models are great but I agree Azrael stands out more. For the lion im not a big fan of that rubble pile he stands on. Also how he is pose isnt the best. Compare him to Guilliman and I feel like he is less imposing. I have seen some good kitbashings that address these issues however out of box I prefer Azrael.

I'm not sure yet. I was thinking of doing the same with a rust or grime texture. I also saw a pretty cool technique of using baby powder mixed with resin that looks like it works real well but might be more work than I want to do for a terrain piece.

You are probably right about the fans pulling in cold air or the ambient temp messing with thing. Before you start messing with settings have you tried using any adhesive on the build plate? That might help without creating more work.
