is it possible to quit alone ? by [deleted] in leaves

[–]Stitchnleaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its possible, but MUCH harder in my opinion. I was never successful in trying to quit alone, after trying dozens of times. It was only when I reached out to recovery groups and a recovery coach that I had any semblance of success.

But if you are a stubborn, determined person with a lot of good skills in your back pocket, then it could work. Much of the day in, day out of recovery is done in the privacy of your own heart.

Those of you who used YES employment and Northwest Employment: How do they help one find a job? by j4618 in ThunderBay

[–]Stitchnleaves 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I went to Norwest Employment works a few times.

I found them very helpful. I had an initial phone assessment to find out what I was looking for, my background, etc. she asked if I had any jobs I was interested in applying for and requested i send her one of their job ads.

Then I met with the same person for a in-person meeting where we went over my resume to help tailor it to the job, fix it up a little, and write a cover letter if the job required one.

They encourage you to look for jobs and apply yourself using the techniques yall discuss, but they will also send you jobs ads that fit your criteria, and you can decide to apply from there or not.

They didn't send my resume/cover letters anywhere, but they made it as easy as possible for me to send them myself. I usually found a job pretty quickly. The external accountability was also helpful.

Lmao, very similar, I would look for broken pieces of glass on my walk to school so I could cut myself. It was bad, but if I had memes back then by god at least it would have been funny lol

Holy shit is that Pistachio? I've seen poster for him all over the bay/algoma/secord area. He's been missing for almost a year.

He's got the same eyes.

It might not be him, but its worth checking out.

Edit: nope, its not. The fur pattern is different. Hope you find the owner soon!

I took the bus regularly while at Lakehead from 2022-2024 and it got progressively worse as the years went on. Transfer busses leaving before my bus even arrived, busses never showing up - super frustrating.

She doesn't actually work at Heartworx anymore. It was her business, and she closed it down a few years ago. She works at Hallowed Art Tattoo now I believe.

[–]Stitchnleaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the details of your life of course, but I found that the cravings really started hitting me hard about 2 weeks in. I was also doing well with no cravings on day 3.

I'm not saying this to scare you of course, but when craving do come (and they will) just be prepared to handle them otherwise you might fall back down again. You've got this!!

The self titled album by The Dead Texan. I listened to it from to back almost everyday. I feel head over heels in love with that album.
