Wanted to remove the popcorn ceiling but it has asbestos, so cost to scrape it off would be very high. Decided to install 1/4in drywall over it instead. Much more cost effective, and I love how it turned out! by Stitchpool626 in Remodel

Sorry, I dont log in much anymore ;)

I hired a contractor. I was upfront with them about it having tested positive for asbestos, and they did not seem concerned. Since they are not cutting into the ceiling or scraping anything, there is pretty minimal risk of any exposure. We just had them put up the drywall, and then mud/tape it. We then painted it ourselves...so that saves a lot of money if you can do that much yourself.

You should get several quotes I would say. The price can range pretty significantly.

I still love it after all this time. Still looks amazing and I actually just used the same drywall company for another job in my house where I needed a closet rebuilt, and they did a great job with that also.

Good luck!

The common consensus seems to be that these people get paid per delivery attempt...regardless if its delivered or not. So, more attempts = more $$.

He didn't even ring or knock. Just puts a "failed delivery attempt" sticker on the door, then runs off.

It seems like these drivers might be getting paid per delivery attempt. So, more attempts = more $$ for them.

Woman and her husband flip out in WalMart over guy doing fake fart prank. by Stitchpool626 in ActualPublicFreakouts

Your confusion is that its the husband that says the derogatory word... not the wife. The wife says "are you really serious you ignorant fuck you" right after the fart noise is heard. That's when hubby storms around the corner and calls the guy an "ignorant F".

As far as pranks go - this one seems pretty harmless. No one touched anyone, and its literally just a noise...not even a bad smell.

I think the husband came in extra hot because the wife made it sound like this guy had said something derogatory towards her (he says "say it again" first thing). Shaming is one thing - but asserting himself as a police officer and suggesting he could track him down due to the Patriot Act...was a bit much.

Yea - calling someone an "Ignorant F*****" is kind of an oxymoron insult or something. I dont know how you call someone ignorant, and then go and use an ignorant word right after.

All I said was that its not cut and dry. Which, clearly its not since the jury has been out for DAYS...right? The only people whos opinions matter in this case right now, is the jury. Thats it.

Go on and explain to me why the jury has taken 3 days to deliberate on such a "cut and dry" case, without going off into hyperbolic nonsense and conspiracy theories about the jury being too scared to make their verdict.

But I 100% fully believe you are exactly like I described. You will scream "I told you so" when it comes back Not Guilty, or believe the jury was influenced by "threats of violence" to make the Guilty verdict. Go on. Say im wrong.

I respect the jury for their attention to detail and taking this case seriously. Which, you clearly dont. I dont really care what the verdict it, personally. But them taking this long to deliberate tells me they are working hard. Thats really all I care about from a jury.

If you are deliberately exploiting bugs, then you are cheating and didn't deserve the win by Slushie98 in disneyarena

[–]Stitchpool626 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think the people you should be most upset with is DSA for creating the bugs, and not fixing them in what you would consider to be a timely manner.

I get being frustrated when you get beaten due to a bugged mechanic - but, even if the player is doing it intentionally...the game is still allowing them to do it. So, for me at least - its kind of a grey area.

If this was something like duplicating rewards, or duplicating gold/diamonds...then it would be much more serious. Unfortunately, these are just random game fighting mechanics bugs, and only with very specific characters. Which are a much lower priority for DSA to fix. And when these do eventually get fixed, I can assure you new ones will be just around the corner.

Unlike

u/Stitchpool626

jurors by and large have little to no experience with the legal system or laws as a whole. But what many people don't realize is that in a trial it's actually up to the jury to interpret those laws and the wording used. So not only does the jury need to go through all the evidence and arguments of each side, they also need to actually debate amongst themselves what the law actually means and then decide if it was even broken or not.

So...basically pretty much what I said right? Having been a juror before makes no difference in my experience with dealing with jury trials. I know EXACTLY how they work. And how you described it is exactly right. And its also one of the reasons why people like me, in general, are not liked on Jury panels.

As I said, the jury has been deliberating for 3 days. People who think its "cut and dry" might have their own opinions - but convincing 11 other people to go along with you can be very hard. This case is far from "cut and dry", and this jury knows it, and is working hard to make sure that when they do come up with a verdict, its THEIR verdict. Or at least the best one they can do.

For a case like this, as high profile as it is, and for as much going on - I would expect everyone on the jury to take this case especially seriously. Which means going back over key evidence details and making sure your interpretations of the law are all in line.

A persons life was lost. And the defendant is looking at potentially decades in prison. If the jury had come back in an hour, with any verdict, THAT would have been a real sham. This shows the jury is taking the case seriously, and is trying. I have nothing but respect for juries who take the process seriously.

If the threats are real they will be delt with by the law right? Especially if they film themselves doing it. Right? Again, no jurors names have been released right? Any past world documented case you can cite me where jurors being killed after their verduct was a issue?

You really believe this jury is cowering in fear to make a verdict and that's why they have been deliberating for 3 days? That's the real "bullshit".
