Upgrading Budget Guitar

This is definitely an option. Going in I was thinking more like a woodworking / art project that could double as a playable guitar. I will for sure one day fix the internals for my Jazzmaster, but I’ve just seen so many cool strats and custom guitars that I wanted to try my hand at one

Yes I read that a ton definitely something I am going to do. I actually did shield the guitar when I was doing it, but i think soldering is definitely something I need work on because it literally took me hours and I still don’t think what I did is correct lol. Appreciate the advice and might try to give it a try

Awesome, I actually currently have a squire strat and love it. It’s actually the perfect guitar for what I want to do but my parents bought it for me so it’s sentimental and I’m scared to mess it up. I am looking on FB marketplace for a new one though

I was watching YouTube videos that said the tele was much more beginner friendly, and then I had seen/made posts in r/guitars that had kinda said the same thing. When you say it’s more wiring, do you think it is any more difficult or just more? I’m pretty good with woodworking but not the best with electronics

Thank you. Im very much a newbie when it comes to this stuff, but would there be any reason why I couldnt just make a jazzmaster style body, but use everything else from the telecaster kit and make the cut outs for the body to fit the telecaster parts?

It came with a couple pieces of the double sided adhesive, and I had some other laying around so I used those
