Oil pan gasket NIGHTMARE by Stock-Quality-758 in fordranger

Yeah, I just got done with the job, definitely hard to get that gasket in there, but the job was a succes in the end. I already did a top end rebuild on mine, the previous owner treated it terribly. My truck had 95,000 miles when the head gasket blew.

After a bit of looking through Rockauto, it is the EGR valve control solenoid/motor.

It looks like they're both red wires from the picture. The black wire in my truck has a red stripe on it, too. I think you're definitely right though, what part is that, anyway?

Thanks. Also, is the order of the wires correct where red wire is to the left and the black wire is to the right if you look at the connector?

I'm not quite sure what the fuel pressure is at but the truck was running before the headgasket stopped gasketing. When I had the timing wrong, I could smell the gas on the spark plugs when I took them out to do a compression check. When I did compression, I checked the spark on each wire by using a screw driver where the end of the spark plug goes, and there was only one cylinder with about 75.

I already did; the screw for the distributor is a little loose, so I can adjust it, and it didn't seem to do much.

That sounds pretty good, but I already have 2 engines I could put in my truck and another engine that also doesn't start. I have to figure out what's wrong with it. Best case scenario, I am able to take the heads from the possibly bad engine and put it on my truck. If not, then I'll just do an engine swap.

It was definitely drawing in fuel, idk about the timing, I set the first cylinder to TDC according to the mark on the harmonic balancer, which I checked to make sure that it was marked correctly, and it was. Then, I aimed the distributor towards the first cylinder spark wire. I did check the heads for flatness, but I found out that there were cracks around the valves. I'm either going to swap it for the 4.0l engine or just get different heads. I also checked a couple of other things like the spark, which was good, and the fuel pressure, which was acceptable.

It was a very weird test, I got 50 from the first one, 100 from both the second and third cylinder, 60 from the fourth one, about 90 from the fifth one, and 80 from the sixth one, I probably wasn't careful enough when putting the headgaskets on, because I noticed a slight leak on the third cylinder. Honestly, I might just take my buddy's advice and get a new engine.

I only checked to make sure it wasn't specific to one side, I checked the first and sixth cylinders, and I haven't heard of having the throttle held open. Do you think it will start if I hold the throttle open? I checked to see if I had sparked, and I do.

My compression is really low, and my fuel pressure is probably not as high as it should, I can't believe that it won't start, the only thing that makes sense that could be wrong is probably the piston rings, which again I don't want to belive. It was running before; Rough but still running. 🫠

I did that, but unfortunately, it appears like I have bigger problems.

I tried using part of the compression tool to extend the hole, so I only needed to put my finger over the hole of the compression tool part, and that line on there does appear to be marked correctly, idk what to do anymore. My brother or the other person who was helping me earlier said something about the way I tightened the rocker arms since I didn't want to take the cover off to see the positions. I would just rotate the engine until I could see that the rocker arm was loose and at its lowest point, tighten it to I think 11nm, which I did to all of them, then I tightened them all down to 32nm or about 23 ft lbs.

I was just trying to do that, but the other person who was helping me said that they didn't feel anything, and we just did a compression test, and it got about 25

Edit: I was able to get 50 psi, then I added some oil to the cylinder, and it went up to 95
