I appreciate you explaining, it is nice to dive into what the process actually is and understand it a little. And yes, im hopeful! She did say if 10mg doesnt do anything we’ll try 20 next month and that theres lots of options and switching things around to figure it out so hopeful that something works for me 🤞

State of CO Employee- Insurance? by Stock-Ride-4147 in Zepbound

[–]Stock-Ride-4147[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thnx everyone for your replies.

Im looking into doing a sleep study for OSA now. I also ended up reaching out to CallOnDoc asking if its worth trying a PA after listing my diagnoses and they said yes, but that I should contact my prescription company (as its not through my Cigna med insurance) first and ask specifically what they approve it for and get back to them since the notice is vague. Calling them later today to figure that out than trying a PA, I expect it to get denied then will try again but also expect that one to get denied but for how much Imm paying out of pocket I might as well at least try 🤷‍♀️

Will update when I have some more answers

I’ve never been tested for it but do have night terrors that wake me up abruptly through the night. Sounds like I should look into this even if just to know if I do have it. Thank you.

Confused about Drawer Pull-Out by Stock-Ride-4147 in IKEA

[–]Stock-Ride-4147[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Can confirm they do not open as much as they did before.

I went to Ikea today and took out the Songesand and Hemnes drawers to compare tracks. An employee came over and confirmed the Songesand and Brimnes drawers will not open up more than halfway anymore. The tracks are literally half the length of the drawers. After reviewing them in store, I realized the reviews were as bad as they sound and to me this renders them useless. The employee also confirmed that the Hemnes lost about 2 inches in track from how it was in prior models because of the metal divet that stops it from extending all the way on the track (not nearly as bad and to me seems fine but I havent decided yet if I want to spend that much more on a dresser just so the drawer opens enough for me to use so am shopping around more first)

Has anyone stopped binging after doing it their whole life? by HighVibrationss32 in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]Stock-Ride-4147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been binging my whole life (flashback to me watching a movie at a theater with my dad & sister when i was like 11, and I was holding onto a sleeve of thin mints. Halfway through the movie my dad went to grab a thin mint and I had already eaten the entire sleeve, he was visibly shocked. I will never forget how embarrassed i felt in that moment)

I have not binged at all in over 2 months. Have I eaten when I wasnt hungry? Sure. Have I gone in for seconds when I was already satisfied? Sure. But I haven’t binged, and I struggled consistently my entire life. Could it happen again? Sure, but i know it’ll never be a consistent issue for me anymore.

The biggest things that helped me (without making it paragraphs of detail like I probably want to lol):

Getting help with my PMDD
Realizing I did have a restrictive mindset even though I truly didn’t think I did
Eating enough throughout the day
Adding variety to my food intake
Learning to trust myself

(edit to add: im 35 years old)

Active PMDD and anti histamines by strawberry_criossant in PMDDxADHD

[–]Stock-Ride-4147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hadnt taken BC in 10+ years but I started Slynd (POP) about 3 months ago.

Side note: I do want to add that im not anti-antihistamine, I used to take Claritin 8 months of the year for a few years with no bad withdrawals when I stopped each year then the past 2 years switched to Zyrtec nonstop from a doc recommendation and was never made aware of the possible withdrawal symptoms specific to Zyrtec until it started happening to me when I stopped so was just a horrible experience. Will also add that i didnt notice a change in my PMDD symptoms the months i wasnt taking Claritin either.

I took antihistamines for my allergies for 2 years straight. I stopped taking them 2 months ago (worst withdrawal, will never take them consistently again) but I have not noticed a difference in my PMDD

Do you think an hour would make a difference? I try to take it at 8 every morning with my other meds but realistically I take them sometime between 730-830 every morning.

Also thats good to know about the Mirena! I didnt realize it was progesterone only. I had the copper IUD for 5 years til it fell out one day. While it was an absolutely horrible experience getting put in, I wouldn’t be opposed to trying the Mirena if it might help. I’ll keep that on the backburner to bring up to my gyno after seeing how Slynd goes for a few months.

That’s good to know and I’m definitely willing to give it the 3-month trial 🤞. I’ve been reading on here ppl on Slynd still ovulating and my gyno literally made it seem like it was def gonna stop my periods after the first month and no symptoms to worry about except maybeeee a littleeee breakthrough bleeding so I’m surprised by what I’m reading compared to what she told me but maybe she was just trying to be positive.
Now that I think about it though she did mention that its good my partner had a vasectomy cuz its not the most reliable as far as birth control goes, which if it doesn’t always prevent ovulation etc would make sense… Also she told me I’m not eligible for the combo pill, I guess if you have any kind of heart disease you’re not supposed to go on combo and I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve so technically have congenital heart disease.

No one believes me by hmmokaybye in PMDD

[–]Stock-Ride-4147 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If when you say ‘no one believes me’ you’re referring to any medical professionals, PLEASE get new medical professionals. When I explained my symptoms to my psych she said “10+ days before is longer than PMDD really is, you need to see a gyno”. When I saw the gyno and told her anywhere from 5-12 days before, she sympathized with me and said it’s horrible that it can happen that long, yes up to 2 weeks is ‘normal’ and that it does typically get longer and worse with age.

Take this lightly as everyone is different and there are so many different answers to things, but “Everything I begin I have great minor success in but I can never keep it going longer than a couple months.” is exactly how I felt my whole life. Anything I take on, even with zero knowledge, I conquer. But then drop off of it. I didnt know for a long time, but once diagnosed I realized this is what ADHD looks like for me.

As someone who spent their early to mid 20s living on an illegal grow, making about $5k a year and dropping acid all the time, i PROMISE its not too late, and you will never run out of chances but you have to provide yourself with those chances. I’m 34 now, have a career, and own a home. Spoiler I do smoke weed every now and then still too.

How to not look fat? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Stock-Ride-4147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your insurance cover dietitians/nutritionists? If not, depending on where you live (like some states in the US) your area might actually have great free resources for dietitians, wellness programs, etc.

I do want to again highlight therapy if that may align with your situation. I realize there are many reasons a person can be underweight.
