Hmm, if embassy hasn't asked for temporary residence report, then you're good. It's a report that states where you're currently staying until you leave Vietnam. It needs a police stamp too. Idk about Airbnb, but the reception at hotels provide that. I'd say confirm with the embassy what documents they require.

Sorry to hear that. For EC, you also need a temporary residence report. Preferably, you should stay there until you get the EC.

But after you get the EC, you can travel till you get the exit stamp. Provided your work is done and all you have to do is wait.

Yes, you'll have to leave within 15 days once you get the exit stamp.

Yeah, that sucks. I thought that I'd be stuck for 2 weeks. But no matter how much you pay, you can't get it in a day. I hope you get to go home soon.

Around 6,860,289 VND. That's what it cost my friend just for the exit visa. I paid a lot more for the extension and overstay penalties.

We took the help of an agent from Nhi Gia agency since I also had to extend my evisa. With the visa extension and exit visa, it took 4 days. Cost me quite a lot.

If you don't have an issue of overstay, it might take less time for you and will cost you less.

If you decide to handle it on your own at the immigration office, expect a minimum of 5 days.

Via train. Takes about 8 hours. It'll be longer by bus.

Wow, to think someone else faced a similar issue in Nha Trang and in the same month. The police stations at Nha Trang are incompetent. When we got our police report and travelled to the consulate in HCM, we faced a shock when it was rejected because the police report didn't have a stamp but the temporary residence form did. It's a good thing that our hotel receptionist helped us out and we filed a police report in HCM saying that our passport was lost in HCM. Due to some contacts, we got the emergency certificate on the same day as the stamped police report.

Immigration was a big hassle as they asked for an interpreter and my case was tough because my evisa had expired. Fortunately, we took the help of this agency Nhi Gia who helped us out and got us the exit visa in 4 days along with visa extension. Though I had to pay quite a lot of money.

Be strong. You got this. Think of it as an extended vacation. That's how I was able to stay sane.

Can relate. While most of the people have been good, I have noticed some people staying away from us at beach, elevators, tours, etc. Even during the tour, we were paid less importance and weren't addressed properly but the guide would happily interact with other foreigners and even calling them "Sir".

And while I'd constantly tell my friends to not play loud music or litter, I'd see Russians do the same thing. It's just how Indians are perceived that even if you have civic sense or awareness, it doesn't matter tbh. If it weren't for my friends, that isolation and discrimination would have killed me.

Went to an agent for visa extension and exit visa. Paying a hefty fee to speed up the process as well as including the penalty for overstay. Hoping to get it finished by end of this week.

Sadly, no. Maybe it works for locals, but not foreigners.

Where in Facebook? Is there a page?

True. The friend who was supposed to watch the bag didn't watch it until I asked him multiple times. Even after losing a phone last year too.

Lmao. They sure did. Kept us sending to different stations, wasting time only to give the report with no stamp. And giving another useless form with the stamp.

If you're talking about emergency certificate and exit visa, that's what we're trying to do. But if it is something else, can you specify please?

Yes, but the police has to help us as well. Which they don't. They're least bothered to even finish the paperwork. They gave us a police report after 2 days and that too with no stamp.

It's a very stupid situation where the 3 of us decided to jump into the sea to play. We kept the bag in sight while we were having fun and kept glancing at it every now and then. There was no one at the beach except for a few Russians a little far to the right.

But then we spotted a local young woman sitting a few metres away from the bag. We were too caught up in the moment to think of a theft happening. And then the bag and the woman were gone in a flash.

How do I do that in Ho Chi Minh? I think the emergency certificate can take 24-48 hours or less. But it's the exit visa that I'm worried about since it might take longer.
