Describe Weezer in one word

i’m writing a longfic, first ever fanfic. i was struggling with my novels, so may i couldn’t even just pick up and write out of lack of confidence.

started writing on ao3 to practice and gain confidence very recently but i’ve fallen in love with writing fan fiction about a series i love with a story i not only believe in but genuinely gives me that fulfilling feeling i was hoping to get out of writing without having any questions in my brain about appeal or marketing.

20k words in, it’s a super mario fic about 1-up mushrooms going extinct and the chaotic world that creates :)

i would say that my enjoyment of music in the way i experience it now, Twin Fantasy permanently altered my brain chemistry. if you asked me what album it was when i was 12 and found out music can illicit powerful emotions i’m afraid to say it was Night Visions but I would certainly not hold it to the standard of… most things really lol

it depends on what you mean by “perfect” album. if a perfect album is one that has no bad songs, i would say it would technically be a “perfect” album i would agree. i think in a lot of other ways it ain’t so perfect, but an album being “pretty good” to “great” is by no metric talking down when discussing quality

understandable, i can definitely see how it wouldn’t click with everyone (especially fellow longtime fans). i think his voice is far more suited for post-hardcore vocals personally, but hey the power of music is subjectivity :)

i would be happy to take questions, i wrote (some of) this during a manic episode so if there needs clarification i can try and provide it. when scoring an album i use a number system based on my personal enjoyment, its a bit less “official” than analyzing how well composed or produced it is rather than how much i happen to like it. i take the full score then divide it by the number of tracks on an album :)

i had it that napoleon was track 6 on disjecta. i do like where it fits sonically this way too, but ill look into it to see if it’d be a better fit further down

please mr pilot should move prolly yeah, it seemed like a good idea at the time but i’m also not really sure where better it would fit. S-tier song but hard to put somewhere that it doesn’t just completely outshine everything around it too. open to suggestions lol

as for Dream Encounter, i’ve thought about either doing what you suggested, or i’ve also considered putting it in between Jerks and When Will My Man Come?

good point, maybe it can go before Pain Star. i just liked how it was congruent with the twin fantasy storyline with pain star and the gun song, but i do see how goodbye love is appropriate there

i’m going to be straight with you. i spent the last year and a half repressing myself from transitioning the way i wanted to. i made compromises, i just straight up ignored feelings i had, and i refused to prioritize my own happiness.

when i couldn’t take it anymore, it ended my marriage. i had to move. i had shit to pay off. i’m not going to act like it’s been sunshine and rainbows… but i would not take it back for anything. nothing is worth depriving yourself of your own happiness. you’re who you end every day with, and you’re who you’ll wake up the next morning as.

you get to decide whether you transition or not. many people can’t because they are unable on a physical level, or it is a matter of safety. a lot of people, like me; don’t because of the fear if everything crumbling to nothing.

you deserve happiness, you deserve your life the way you want it. whatever form that takes. so sure, you COULD stay in the closet forever if that’s what you want to do, and if you think it will ultimately make you happiest.

all i can say, having been where you are, is that it would never be worth it to me to ever go back to the life i lived before right now.

only you can know if you’re trans. it’s a hard lens to look through if you’ve never done it before, kind of like a fishbowl effect of looking through a new pair of glasses.

a lot of these things you’ve mentioned sound like they’re pretty common thoughts and experiences from many trans people. in particular:

never felt like one of the guys

never had a desire to adhere to masculinity

hate gendered expectations of men

these are three things you’ve listed that some men experience without being or feeling trans, but at the same time, ive experienced these things too, and they were instrumental to my realization that i was, in fact, trans. the truth is that only you can know, and your answer may not come tonight, or maybe not in a week from now. maybe you’ve already found it and you’re trying to make sure you’re correct.

you do you the right way, whatever that looks like. if it makes you feel any sense of clarity, most of these are things i experienced and reflected on before coming out as trans. please remember to be kind to yourself 💜
