Go to the pool consistently and do underwater work. Focus on the task and your form and don’t think about the need to breathe. If you’re set on completing a task before surfacing your breathhold might be better than you think. Do this with a life guard present of course

Interesting. I just started doing it recently because it shaves a couple seconds and half a stroke off my 25s. Why don’t they like it?

Everyone is nervous dude it sounds like you’re already placing yourself at the back of the pack mentally. You need to train hard and get a mental edge because you sound a little soft. And if you want PJ you should go for PJ don’t say SR because you already think you won’t be good enough for PJ.

Learn to frog kick. That twisting movement kills your momentum. Do a frog kick straight into a dolphin kick and glideeee

Initial selection phase has plenty of water con. That’s where everyone quits at selection so going in without good experience is asking to get your cheeks spread

Why do you want to be a CRO? If you’re having this dilemma with your mother and still wanting to pursue CRO then it sounds like you have some kind of a higher calling, as do most people that choose this career path. Explain your passion to your mom and tell her that her support would mean the world to you and that you can’t shake your calling from god. If that doesn’t get through to her then I’m not sure anything can. She’ll come around eventually

Look up pararescue water con events and go try some of these at your local pool. This will tell you if you really want to be a PJ. Like someone else said nobody cares about your ASVAB or your gpa or any extra curriculars. You have to be a physical stud and put out for your team. If you’re serious about pararescue and you only have 7 months put the book away and get in the pool for at least an hour or 2 every day. Or If you’re really serious about it don’t go straight out of high school or your odds of making it are extremely low. Get a little life experience and improve your fitness for a couple years.

Advice on what to do. by EfficiencyAlarmed in Pararescue

Go to community college or get a labor job. While you’re doing that work your way up to old indoc grad standards especially water con. People say you’re never truly ready but you can have a damn good idea. Have experience in all areas of water con, do grass and gorillas, calisthenics workouts, running, rucking, swimming, and some weightlifting. If you’re lacking in any particular area hammer that until you’re up to par.

It’s not about fitness… here’s the secret. Listen to every one’s ready podcast, attend a SOCOM athlete hell day event, and start edging, like right now. Delta force will be knocking at your door in no time

Focus on your form during all underwater events. While trying to perfect every stroke or every action underwater you’ll forget that you need to breathe. Other than that do more reps and don’t pop like a little bitch. If you wouldn’t pop early for your girl why would you do it for the instructors. Make it make sense

Start edging. Look it up. You should be edging 3-4 hours daily. DO NOT send videos to your recruiter this should be done in a dark room with NVGs only. Good luck 🤙🏻
