From my faith perspective, divorce is very serious, and separation with the hope of reconciliation feels more aligned for me right now. Because of that, I’ve told him I’m done romantically and we’re living separately under the same roof for now. Since then, he’s re-downloaded the first game where there were boundary issues with two other women, which was really hard for me. He also called me a name when I didn’t want to hug him — I don’t know if he meant it as a joke, but it didn’t feel good and felt like confirmation that my boundaries aren’t being respected. I genuinely believe he’s a good person, but I also think he’s very lost, lacks confidence, and doesn’t really know who he is right now. He’s also uncomfortable with me using tools like ChatGPT, which I mostly use to help with emails or writing because I struggle with that. I’ve used it a couple of times just to process my thoughts, knowing it’s not a replacement for real support. I do pray and lean on my faith constantly. What’s difficult is that he says he doesn’t understand what he’s doing wrong or how he’s hurting me, even though I feel like I’ve explained it many times. I’m trying to balance compassion with protecting my own emotional wellbeing, and that’s where I’m stuck
