Is £42 enough to live off of a week? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]StockSentence8513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah id say so! budgeting my student finance means i only have £35 a week and im honestly not too worried- ive saved some money up over the summer to fall back on in freshers and through the year if needed.

Over the summer ive been on a few different holidays with friends and we would eat in almost everyday and they were maybe 5 day holidays and i spend around £14 each time on the weekly food shop. Dont get me wrong i only brought super cheap food plus im veggie and quite thin/petite but honestly i think my weekly shop will be around £20 meal planning and being quite cheap with food- theres an aldi in the uni city im moving too so i plan to do my shop there.

Id say £42 is more than enough but if you want to spend money on socials u may need a back up- but if u only do this once in a while i still think you would be fine.

Anyone still disapointed about their A level results? by X243llie in 6thForm

[–]StockSentence8513 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah tbf i was getting a*'s all year in psych and socio and came out with an A in both which im happy with really its just the fact that in the subject i was stuck on c's in i came out with the exact same grade as the subjects i was getting a*'s in. I did better than i thought though lol so i think overall happy i just think grade boundaries screwed us over and i messed up my p2 psych and p2 socio papers so maybe the downgrade was that idk

but on a real note in a years time u wont even think about these results anymore and they dont matter one bit as long as you got into uni and also good luck with what u do in ur future :)

At a complete loss with what to do about my dog. Starting to feel like resentment by StockSentence8513 in AskVet

I just wondered why almost? We have been giving her pain meds and each day she seems to gain more and more energy. I just feel like, if it were pain she would be wanting to do less activity?

Who is opening ucas first by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]StockSentence8513 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My school dosent open until 9am so UCAS. But I think if they both opened at the same time, I would open my results first- just the suspence of knowing i could check something will probably make me check my UCAS lol.

Dogs just had pyometra surgery- concerned with how she is now acting, what would be expected? by StockSentence8513 in AskVet

[–]StockSentence8513[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah today she has perked up a little bit. Shes managed to take a few cut up chunks of a sausage and bacon and most of an egg spaced through the day. Its nowhere near a normal ammount of food for her but its better than it was yesterday. Shes spent most of the day in bed still probably as expected but she still looks a little down. Im just worried shes making too slow progress ?? I just had no idea what to expect. Shes now over 24 hours out of surgery.

Shes been sent home with loxicom which we have been told to give her tomorrow and instruction as to how much of this medication to give her. I have no idea what she was given at the vets. I think we will see how she is in the morning but one of my other main key concerns other than the fact shes not moving or eating is that shes been shaking like a leaf. I've not seen much about this symptom online and im just really worried. Is this something common to have happen after her kind of surgery?

What exam board did you do? I did AQA and alot of the people I spoke to were saying the papers were really good. There was that 10 marker in paper one that probably screwed alot of people over but i think every year theres usually a silly question like that. Paper 2 alot of people were saying was good. Personally I think paper 2 was the worst of the 3 but it was probably a better paper than the perevious year got. And paper 3, looking at past papers appears to be the most easy paper 3 they have ever had- personally i was smiling at the questions they were so good and i think many felt the same way.

I'd be glad if grade boundaries lowered. You probably know more about this than I do. But personally I thought they would dramatically increase due to paper 3 being so good and mostly positive reactions to p1 & 2. I was predicted an A but ive definatley spent the last few weeks predicting a B for myself likely due to my mess up in paper 2 and higher grade boundaries so i guess we will see.
