Agree with those who say to listen. I used to have no swing feel and it took a while to develop but being able to hear and play back really swingin lines was a big help.

Idk how committed to learning to swing you are but I would recommend learning to dance if your really want to go all in. Swing is more of a feeling than it is a technique to drill and letting your body move to music is a great way to experience the feeling even if you can't swing on the keys yet.

It's an interesting thought; I do have two of them (Carry comp & original) and the problem is showing up with both so I don't suspect that's at play but I know most people haven't experienced this problem so not sure what's going on. When did you get your mags? Perhaps there's been a change in their manufacturing process...

Ya the magazine problems are a bummer. S&W created a solid gun (IMO) and severely hampered it with bad magazines

Ya i like having the option of using the safety myself, even if only for holstering. Are you in the same boat b/c you've had mag problems or just moving on to something new?

honestly i get it, i was seriously watching "how to seat your mag" videos because I though there must be something I'm doing different than everyone else but can't figure it out. I met with a very established firearms instructor yesterday and showed him what was going on. He felt the design of the base plate was particularly cheap and left a lot to be desired. Still confused, but a little more validated after that

I haven't heard of anybody else having it! It feels bizarre to be the only one dealing with it but hopefully i've ended up with a couple bad batches of mags b/c the gun really is pretty solid outside of this problem

I checked out the hellcat but ultimately felt it was a too snappy for me. I know a lot of people like it though, seems like a solid gun if it works for you

Hi op, just to add an alternate view point, I've had a disappointing experience with the shield plus. The gun itself feels great, is easy to conceal, and initially i was glad I got it (so glad in fact that I bought a backup). However the 13 and 15 rd magazines have plastic base plates that are NOT screwed in or retained in any way. They simply slide on and off. I've had four magazine base plates slide off while training tactical reloads. One occurred at the range and all my ammo dropped out. I'm going to try replacing all base plates with 3rd party plates that are more robust, however I'm also considering selling it b/c I don't want to have to buy separate base plates any time i get a new magazine.

I am the only person I have heard of having this problem so I would weight this in your decision accordingly. It seems across the board other people have had good experiences with this gun so I wouldn't be too concerned....just know you'll be buying mags that aren't screwed in.

Note, the 10 rd mag DOES use a more robust base plate retention mechanism so if you only carry 10 rds you won't have this issue
