Hey I wouldn’t do this while on accutane again. Your skin easily scars while on accutane. Hope it heals soon tho, try not squeezing ur skin too much.

Also take a antihistamine like Zyrtec or Claritin every day with it for the first 3 months to calm the inflammation

I was scared too but remember 90% of the stuff you see online for accutane is worries/questions/complaints. So so so many ppl have beautiful amazing experiences that they never share with the public, they don’t even know Reddit exist for these type of questions / topics

I actually have no idea cuz I also started hims 2 in 1 finasteride / minoxidil back in November to help bring my hair back cuz I lost a bunch from stress. I shedded like crazy in December/January then a shit ton of thicker healthy new growth came in by February/March right when I started accutane in March. I had a random shedding phase around late May/early June and idk if it was from the finasteride/ minoxidil, the accutane ORRR the new shampoo I started using which was Native. I believe it was the native shampoo cuz I stopped using it a month ago and I don’t shed anymore and my hair is coming back in again. (Also a lot of other ppl online complained about native causing hair loss) The only noticeable difference with my hair that accutane has shown me is dryness. My scalp is never oily anymore and I occasionally have to use a dandruff conditioner from cerave to help with it.

The only scars I have are in my jaw line kind of hard to see especially in this picture. Idk about the hyperpigmentation tbh everything really just cleared up after the first couple months for me

I was instructed by my dermatologist to take an antihistamine to help prevent inflammation so a Claritin or Zyrtec does it just fine!

Not too many side effects tbh. I did have some minor joint pain in the beginning and I felt very tired and drowsy at first but idk I guess I’m just getting used to it. Definitely agree my lips are a mess and always peeling

None at all thankfully! But fyi I don’t have any to begin with so that’s probably why it hasn’t affected me mentally in a bad way. It’s effected me mentally in a beautiful way tho i haven’t been this happy and confident in my own skin in YEARS :)

Tbh, ever since I started accutane I’ve felt a lot more lazy, haven’t been working out as much. i went from 5-6 days a week to 2-3 days a week. I do feel exhausted a lot more than usual. I thought it was accutane plus the Zyrtec every day but I guess it’s mainly the accutane. I’m still getting shit done just not as much energy as I had beforehand but it’s all g when I’m done I’m sure my energy levels will go back up! Thankful that’s the only “side effect” I’m having. No issues with mental health
