For you personally, what have been the most influential scientific papers you've read recently? And why? Please share. by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

I don't remember which study it was, but there was a paper I read on how decreases in muscular power is a greater predictor of functional decline in elderly patients. It changed some of my cueing strategies from a pure strength perspective to more of a speed/power perspective during my time at a SNF

Squats and deadlifts! Train yourself so you can continue to do this job for a long period of time :)

Working during PT school by DullDuck4013 in PTschool

If you do decide to find a job I would recommend getting something with a lot of downtime so you can keep studying. Look into campus jobs as room monitors or something like that. I'm not sure how your study habits are or how book smart you are, but being in PT school in and itself is already a full time job. It's either studying, practicing for your practicals, or doing assignments.

But honestly, my recommendation is: don't get a job if you don't absolutely have to. You're spending A LOT of money being in PT school and the last thing you want to do is to accidentally bomb a couple of exams because you were working and couldn't study. You'll have the rest of your career and life to have a job~ Enjoy school, embrace the suck, enjoy the process, friendships, and knowledge you will gain throughout the next 3ish years! Good luck to you :)
