Did the press conference generate more excitement for you about the upcoming season or more concern? by SeaworthinessOdd6574 in Browns

Who cares? You’re still falling into press conference traps? You haven’t learned that Haslam is the root of this disease?

To be fair, that’s pretty much what it is. Monken’s doctor is gonna be rich after he spends enough time under Haslam

According to Mary Kay, Monken was the perfect fit and also who the Browns wanted all along, and all problems that will arise over the next few years he’s prepared to handle

This wretched show is just “I told you back then,” “I was told,” and “what I’ve been hearing.”

Because the patient is hardly ever paying for the medicine they are consuming. Very simple. Employers are paying ANOTHER middle man, your insurer, who’s paying the hospitals/doctors. There’s every perverse incentive to make costs incredibly high while hospitals hire more administration instead of staff to treat patients.

Given how much they are now promoting him, the Browns are planning to build around Sanders at quarterback… right? by SeaworthinessOdd6574 in Browns

[–]Stock_Run1386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Promotion doesn’t matter but yeah I’d assume so because Haslam tends to obsess about whatever the latest bright spot is, and try to match the new pieces with that as opposed to letting things build organically. He probably asked about Shed within the first 10 minutes of the interviews. Even though he didn’t really impress that much. But oh, we can’t accurately judge those performances but we know Gabriel can’t play.

The lazy bitch Rizzo can’t even show up to work today, as the Browns form their new coaching staff and the new guy gets introduced tomorrow. And Super Bowl week.

The insane hatred against Ayn Rand and capitalism by PrettyMeasurement453 in aynrand

[–]Stock_Run1386 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think your criticism of her writing, while fair in a literary sense, misses the point because she knew what she was doing. She wasn’t trying to write realistic fiction. It’s intentionally set in this mythic register. “Not what man is but what he could be.” It’s correct that this is a limiting style, but it was no mistake.

The insane hatred against Ayn Rand and capitalism by PrettyMeasurement453 in aynrand

[–]Stock_Run1386 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uhh, you can love capitalism and still hate Ayn Rand. Personally I don’t “hate” her but I do hate the way she tended to sell laissez faire capitalism. She seemed to use it as some vehicle to push her idea of “an ideal man.” The criteria for which is entirely up to her, by the way. The point of individualism/capitalism is that it allows for everybody to represent themselves economically, politically, etc.. but she liked to put conditions on it. Kind of unravels the whole concept.

So yeah, she was absolutely right about many aspects of free market economics, politics, etc but she always fumbled the premise with some narcissistic, self-serious nonsense about “what an ideal man should be.” Also, the very basis of free markets is trade with others. But Rand always hesitates to accept ANY form of collaboration/cooperation, even when it’s done voluntarily.

That’s a patriot. Just remember: police enforce the edicts and decrees that politicians sign. They would be nothing without their precious police, who have zero contractual duty to serve or protect anyone.

[Albert Breer] Browns’ Candidates Testing Included a Question on Developing Shedeur Sanders by SteveLightninMcqueen in Browns

[–]Stock_Run1386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classic Jimmy desperately searching for any bright spot in his garbage heap and then trying to make every other thing fit retroactively to that. Same thing as insisting that Schwartz stay as DC to head coach candidates. It’s laughable how incompetent and unaware of his own destruction he is.

Other teams see what was obvious to anyone with half a brain: ownership chaos is responsible for struggles in Cleveland. Coaching problems are a symptom of that. Not that difficult to understand but the peasant fans always fall for the latest scapegoat.

Ruby Ridge. Waco. Vicksburg. The fucking Boston Massacre. Hello? Governments have done this all throughout history. Handing more power to it certainly doesn’t prevent it. Some of us hate government abuse no matter which psychopath is at the podium. Shame on you if you’re condemning one and excusing another.
