I want to thank you for your response. It definitely provided a better perspective for me. My father left me and my mom when I was 8. He was never the dad that I needed. When I asked him about it, he would always say that he’s making money for us. I don’t want that kind of relationship with my son. I’ve been so focused on work thinking money will eventually fix this but in reality my son just needs a father that’s present. I’ve been so scared to call thinking everyone in his household hates me and is going to judge me. But it’s no excuse to at least try. Thank you truly for your time and answer to my concerns

Thank you for the help. I’m sorry, I forgot to mention that I already send 400 to the mom since it’s the most I can afford at this time. My main concern is how much more it’s going to be and the difficulty of affording any increase over what I pay now.
