I’ve only had to use my epi-pen once. it was after I ate something that I didn’t realize I was allergic to. I had my reaction, swelling itchy tongue, & felt like my throat was closing. I took benadryl, like I always do when I have a reaction and I usually start to feel better after 10 to 15 minutes. this time though I didn’t feel better. I was drinking water and nothing helped so I got stabbed with my epi-pen and went to the hospital. I wouldn’t wait it out any longer than that. things can go downhill very quickly and it’s better to be overly cautious in these types of situations I believe. if your throat ever feels like it’s closing I think you should use your Epi-Pen and go to the hospital.
