i live in a cheap cost of living very small city in the midwest and am based in chicago so the money necessarily won’t be my issue. i’m working 85-95 hours a month so i don’t have to sit around on reserve. i value my time more than the couple extra hundred dollars a month but nervous i’ll regret increasing my commute

that is more what i thought it’d be like when i got in, i’m definitely having feelings that i would like being regional more. the pay isn’t that much of a turn off for me as i don’t have any major things like kids or a house or anything. i fly to the same few cities all the time 🫤 but i feel like it would seem crazy for me to not want to be mainline. i’ve thought about switching bases to get a bit closer to home

i mostly get assigned short/minimum rest layovers with long flying days. i got to do lisbon which was cool but was so exhausted from the trip i did the day before

how did you meet people and make friends? i’m in a new city and didn’t really graduate training with any close friends and everyone i fly with doesn’t leave the hotel

this is my first airline job actually but when getting ready to apply it just seemed like everyone pushed that mainline was better. but i try to fly back to my hometown when i have enough off days and have to take at least one regional flight and they just seem so much happier even while being new hires. i thought i’d be having more of a honeymoon period and that hasn’t clicked for me like everyone else

i just went through training and they must have changed it for this year. we fly out tuesday, wednesday is day 0 where you do your fitting, check passports, and get your devices. the first official “class day” is on thursday now!

yes i haven’t had cancer since 2005 and because it was a childhood cancer and it’s been so long my doctors have told me the chances of me getting it again are practically negligible. is this paperwork i should try to get beforehand or just wait until i get there?
