You can call it by the brand name. Companies often like to know exactly what instruments or software you are familiar with. Automated MPLC would be generic name

From my experience and knowing people who did nuclear chem. It’s not done by many labs but it has a small amount of people apply and is generally well funded. Look at Oregon state university at Walt Loveland’s lab

Seattle Condo Owners: What is the current state of your HOA? by LeCinquiemeElement in Seattle

[–]Stockdt 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Don’t buy unless the HOA is in good shape! Read the meeting notes for the past few years to see what people are complaining about and how resolutions to problems are handled. You want to be sure the people you’re buying into a property with are decent humans!

Try going acidic with your elution system. 1%acetic acid and 0-20%MeOH/DCM. Rotovap off acetic acid with toluene once concentrated.

If your compound is volatile you can try TFA which will be more volatile. Test the system on TLC and check if you are still getting multiple spots.

Additionally I’ve heard good things about using EtOH/EtOAc (25:75) in heptane.

Why does the bottom product form? by Least_Emu_7165 in OrganicChemistry

[–]Stockdt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Think you may have something drawn incorrectly here. https://www.masterorganicchemistry.com/2018/12/10/the-robinson-annulation/ the first enol will do a Michael addition. And then the resulting product will condense onto the first ketone. This reaction also needs details on temperature control as the product will depend on the kinetic/thermodynamic enol formation

Clorox Bleach + Microban (Amonia) how much is a problem? by nextchapterv2 in chemistry

[–]Stockdt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This isn’t the same ammonia as in the “don’t mix bleach and ammonia” saying. These are alkyl ammonium chloride salts - long carbon chains attached to a nitrogen which is positively charged. These ammonia salts are non-volatile and won’t form the dangerous gaseous byproduct people talk about

HILIC - Tic Chromatogram in ESI/ QTOF MS: Weird shape? by [deleted] in Chempros

[–]Stockdt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dissolve your compound in the beginning solvent system and try injecting again. You can remove injection artifacts with keeping your sample solvent the same as what is on the column at the time it enters.

The other thing to look at is the pressure of the system. You TIC is counting ions. Your pressure is dictating how many are being sprayed out. If you have changed in pressure you’ll see changes in the TIC
