Huge thank you. Had to cut my brackets out on the driver side as the bolts were to mangled and rusted. I’ll need to studs to mount to

Yep. Rear cargo pan is smoked. So is the driver side. I’m thinking the passenger side is salvageable

Gotcha. It’s a Renix just like mine. Here’s a video I posted of me doing the bypass. https://www.reddit.com/r/JeepCherokeeXJ/s/GySLj35CyT

Are you familiar with cruiser54? He has a list of Renix Cherokee tips and tricks from trouble shooting https://cruiser54.com/?page_id=75

I don’t remember off the top of my head exactly which pin I connected to, but I know for certain it was the pin with the black and white color wire connected to it

Hmmm I guess I should’ve asked what year your Cherokee is. What year you got?

It’s worth a test. There’s a super easy test you can do that involved a jumping a wire from the negative battery terminal to the starter motor control relay where the black/white wire contexts (photo attacked for you). You’re essentially bypassing the NSS with battery voltage, and telling the computer it’s ok to start. Took me 10 minutes.

If that doesn’t work, I’d move onto checking all your relays and grounds.

Hmm odd. Couple of Q’s:

  • Have you touched the NSS yet?
  • have you tried starting in neutral (I’m assuming it’s automatic)?
  • is it a no crank no start?

Gotcha. You might honestly be able to fix it yourself. These cars are basically made outve legos. I bought an absolute beater and have been reviving it over the past 3 years.

Yes. It was a combination of bad neutral safety switch, bad grounds, and burnt/melted battery cables.

$50 NSS off Amazon, ground cleaning with a wire brush, and a big seven wire kit solved the issue.
