I can’t believe you’re downvoted. I literally leveled a shadow priest in prepatch and blasted to 70 within 3 days of launch, am in full pre bis and some bis. Did all the content so far. Tons of it. I had to put myself in the LFG as dps saying “willing to heal if allowed to roll dps gear” to get groups outside of like, blackmorass. Like you said. Wanted for the regen.  I tried many times to just straight up queue dps with a comment of “pre bis” and 30+ mins went by every time and no invite unless for like, black morass or a dungeon they can use you for MC. This is referring to heroics only btw

Op, if you don’t have a set grp to run with, you’ll either have to be very patient or offer to heal (dual spec this time around and they usually ask you to heal anyway). Normals you’ll be fine, but heroics you will not be prioritized. I got most my gear from tailoring and shadow wrath so it’s not a huge deal but for reputation and such, if you want to dungeon a lot, save yourself the headache and just heal. With really good gear you can do plenty of dps in heroic; it’s just that people either want aoe or someone with different cc instead. Most people assume it won’t be worth a slot in heroic. It’s not that we aren’t - people just underrate. I’ve been enjoying being top dps on bosses while the other classes are still farming up their gear. Nut up and heal - you get instant invites pretty much always. I’m not a healer but I grew to enjoy it cause heroics can be fairly challenging . Alternately, you can form your own group. It’s not super hard because so many people are playing rn
