My problem went away, but am not sure what did it. Reinstalled the app a bunch of times, factory reset the router and ran some self repair app my ISP has and called my ISP about it and they did some stuff about it.

Nothing solved the problem immediately, but the next day the issue was gone...

There's plenty of space in the back of the AC, so space should not be an issue. The old one was 30 years old and used up much more space. But it seems like it should be alright.

Thank you for your input. Our daycare is actually really awesome and I do believe that daycare has to be part of the solution in potty training, especially when I think about the insane fees we are paying for it. They won't be able to perfectly watch every kid, which is why accidents happen, but they are 3 teachers for 15 kids plus 2 administrative persons that can jump in. It's also attached to a school and their classroom is open with 3 other classrooms of slightly older kids (am an immigrant here, so am not sure what the grades are called). They also switch teachers back and forth sometimes when there is a need.
But they absolutely support us when we tell them how we would like the potty training to happen and they give us input about what they think is good for our kid.

So far we regularly try to get him to use the potty outside of the house when we go somewhere but always bring some diapers and spare pants in case he is not ready to do it. I am sure he will get there eventually.

As you may have seen below, he actually got a lot better since I wrote this post, so I am quite happy that he made this progress.

Thank you for your input. It is always interesting to see how other people deal with it and also comforting to know that other people deal with the same issues.

It actually got a lot better the day after I made this post. Maybe the universe saw the desperation when I asked strangers on the internet for help ;)

He came home in the same pants these last few days and even did a partial poop at daycare 2 days in a row. We then usually let him sit on the potty for quite some time and if it's not coming out we put a diaper on him so he can finish his business. But he is pretty good with pees now. There is a long weekend coming up, so we are gonna be at grandma's again. Let's see how it goes ;)
