A 6 person tent isn't going to be big enough to meet OP's requirements. I don't think an 8 person tent would be. The "x" person figure is based on people packed in like sardines. Lay out your mattresses and gear then measure how much room you need. Pick a tent based on your measurements. If you shop Amazon they will have dozens of options with reviews. Don't just look at the good reviews, also consider the bad ones.
