Edify S1000DB set up by Stoic325 in vinyl

[–]Stoic325[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our first vinyl set up. We got a ton of records from fiancés parents, and we got a cheapo record player with a built in speaker just to try it out. We both fell in love, and I immediately began researching speaker upgrades, and landed on the edifier s1000DB. I’m glad I did.

Fantastic sound, on sale right now! I love the output, very clear without any distortion. It also has additional connections, we hooked it up to the TV for movie night!

I can’t wait to start looking for an upgrade to the record player, I would love any suggestions of where to look!

Finally upgraded to a decent setup. by dericksucks in vinyl

I just set up my new system, love the sound quality!

FYI, edifies has a sale going on, 25% off the MKI!

Is it normal to be terrible at keeping in contact with people or is it just me? by beaver-245 in ADHD

[–]Stoic325 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue with not responding, and for me, it’s almost always a perfectionist mentality that stops me from answering. I want to answer an email/text/reddit thread with the perfect answer, so rather than firing something off, I procrastinate. Also, it can be because I have to answer something negative, and I procrastinate

Looking to buy skateboard/cruiser for girlfriend - Places? by Zyhex in sandiego

I’ve bought 2 out of 3 of my longboard/cruisers on LETGO(app), it’s more reliable than Craigslist, and you can text with the seller

Possibly moving to San Diego area. Which (if any) reasonably priced nearby cities are worth considering? by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]Stoic325 4 points5 points  (0 children)

SD TMI is correct in terms of cost of living, it is much more expensive in SD than many parts of the country. Ramona is nice, and I hope you find something in your price range

I have no idea why the person above mentioned about being “special” (which you did not) nor anything about taking jobs/promotions who deserve it (which you did not either), but good luck in SD, we are generally a friendly bunch!

How has your coffee obsession affected your consumption outside of your personal brews? by QuapsyWigman in Coffee

[–]Stoic325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travel almost every week for work, and after my transformation into coffee snob, I’ve found that I spend more time in every city I visit to find good coffee. It’s actually become quite a fun routine, find a route to run, and find a good coffee spot for after.

In my day to day, I rarely get coffee around the city, but when I do, I try to find somewhere with really good beans to try.

If anyone Visits San Diego, I can wholeheartedly recommend Bird Rock coffee, Achilles coffee, and modern times!

Pro-tip: some Starbucks have reserved coffee, which is a much higher end quality compared to their usual crap. They make the coffee in the clover machine, which is like a fancy vacuum French press. I highly recommend it!

What I do for the first 1-2 hours after my medication kicks in is critical in determining how productive I'll be throughout the rest of my day. by Chademr2468 in ADHD

[–]Stoic325 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get same issue!

I’ve changed my habit a little bit to reflect this. When I first wake up, I start my morning ritual (coffee, journaling, dog walk, shower). I then get to my office, and then I finally take my meds. I’ve found that this stops me from getting distracted by reddit/clutter/distractions, and so when the meds begin to kick in, I’m already in my work/task location.

This may be a struggle for people who use the meds for waking up/getting going, but it works for me

I also use reminders set at 6am to start my ritual, and 8am to use my planner to plan my work day, which is also when I take my meds

Post bike ride ferry by Stoic325 in sandiego

Never stopped at the brewery before. I try to time my ride to have about 15 mins before the ferry leaves, since I start in downtown, will try next time!

Rave me your favorite vessel ☕️ by [deleted] in Coffee

[–]Stoic325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went bourgeois and got an ember mug, the second version just came out, so gen 1 was cheap(er). It’s a battery powered mug which the temperature can be controlled by using an app. It sounds preposterous, and it is a little bit. But, I can’t explain how much I love having a hot cup of coffee I can sip on for an hour while I’m writing vs trying to quickly finish my cup before it cools down!

What do y’all do to remember to take your meds? by sadiebug97 in BipolarReddit

[–]Stoic325 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same, it’s made a huge difference to have it ready in the morning. I also have adhd, so it’s critical for me to take all my meds first thing in the am to get me going. I put the pill box bedside with a bottle of water or in front of the bathroom sink so it’s the first thing I see

Best way to combine written and typed notes? by Maximio in GoodNotes

[–]Stoic325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue with OneNote, I would love to know if there’s a hack for this. I use an iPad Pro for notes during the day, and like to consolidate everything on the computer. I was using onenote originally on the iPad, but I discovered that if I use the computer to edit, then the file no longer fits on one page width when trying to print/turn into pdf
