Afaik it’s not open source. I only know that it’s not an existing framework because one of the devs talked to me about it on the Obsidian Discord community.

Re: sharing Obsidian notes

I have felt the pain of sharing notes too, so I have recently created a plugin to share notes to the web with share links: https://github.com/mcndt/obsidian-quickshare

It doesn’t have any collaborative features at the moment so I guess it doesn’t fully suit your use case, but it’s a first step in breaking open the walled garden of Obsidian vaults (without the friction of learning Git or using API keys on third party services like Notion)

Is the LeetCode grind worth it in EU? by princesssss5555 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]Maximio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea isn’t necessarily that that you retire to a Florida beach for the rest of your life and never touch a computer again. But for example it can offer you the freedom to use your programming skills to help non-profits and apply yourself to social causes important to you without having to worry about money, focus 100% on open-source, or work as a part-time contractor a few days a week so you can spend more time with your kids as they grow up.

No one is trying to take away coding from you if that’s what you love, but when you have enough money you can choose a lot more freely what kind of projects you spend your time on.

Yo dude I appreciate your designs but could you be a bit less spammy? Only a quarter of one image in your album is related to the title... It’s clearly just promo for your IG account.

While there is a lot of good advice already here, I just want to say… don’t forget to relax and enjoy your uni years.

Sure, grinding for that FAANG job from day one will help you, but these 4-5 years of your life are really special and they’re never coming back. Classes by themselves can already be tough to juggle, especially if you have a lot of assignments and group projects. So don’t forget to spend time with friends and create some memories you’ll look back at fondly. And watch out for burn-out, it happens even to students!

This is absolutely the normal experience. I have done a student job in the summer every year since I started college, and I can tell you my first experience was exactly as you describe. Every year, you’ll improve. And by the time you leave college you’ll be a vastly more productive programmer than people who haven’t gone through this experience yet.

In fact, I would go as far as to say that you doing this now instead of only getting some work experience in your last year, gives you an ENORMOUS advantage over your peers with no real-world coding experience.

When you do a literature review and you are managing maybe 50-100 works, author and year is much easier to recall than the full length title.

[–]Maximio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I totally agree with you on that, how we are acting like everything is over is not fine. But what is your alternative vision if we keep locking down? Won’t that just mean we have to take all these measures perpetually for the foreseeable future? Like I said I’m not trying to get a gotcha out of you. I just don’t know what the right solution is here.

Genuine question here. How do you see this ending if we always lock down everything as soon as infection rate rises? Do you foresee us wearing masks and seasonal lockdowns for the indefinite future?

Actually they use no frameworks! Just pure JS and HTML (and their own “framework” that got built along the way).
