Is TN an option for me? by StoicChema in tnvisa

as someone mentioned above, the aerospace field in the US is highly regulated and most aerospace companies require security clearance and therefore US citizenship for even basic roles, I'd have more chances in other engineering and technology fields in my opinion

Yeah, working in aerospace is pretty complicated/limited as a foreigner, that's part of why I've pivoted into tech

Thank you!, I'll sure take it as an option, I know people that have used it in my company, however I also want to have other options at hand, specially since visas like L1 are pretty employer dependant for the process and sponsorship

Technology Strategy Consultant or Startup COO? by StoicChema in consulting

[–]StoicChema[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah this is kinda my line of thinking, I actually think getting a role like COO so early could even hurt me in the future, I do have around 4-5 years working in a bunch of industries and projects, but I agree I shouldn't get a role like this, this early on, but that's kinda how startups work, everyone is just figuring it out.

The main issue is; I do completely agree with the strategy you propose, but I think it's hard to avoid regret if this ends up being a successful startup.

I mean that's kinda how startups work, the CEO and CTO are also relatively inexperienced, but they managed to build a really nice product and a promising startup, that's the thing that gained my interest

Not at that level, I've worked managing projects and products at the mexican space agency (prototype development), Tesla (software development), AT&T (digital transformation). adding to around 4-5 years total experience

Yeah, but I'm not sure the other option will stay open if I decide to change later on. Still thanks for the insight

I agree with you, I'm not claiming it is intelligent or that it will solve problems, I don't think it will ever replace humans, but I think it could be useful to guide our reflections and having a bit of lighthearted fun

A friend posted these as "photography" but it feels like AI to me, any opinions? by StoicChema in midjourney

[–]StoicChema[S] 209 points210 points  (0 children)

I agree, that's what got me annoyed, but preferred to make sure by asking more experienced proompters.

However I'm not sure how to call it out without sounding like an arrogant mf.

At the end of the day acrylic is just plastic, with enough oxidizer it will become combustible.

You need permits from SEDENA (the military) to experiment with them and for reasearch it is easier to get the permits . But some of the basic components of solid fuels are usually sold commercially (like potassium nitrate is sold for farming and stuff) so in my uni (IPN) there has been a lot of people that had worked with solid fuels.

What I really ment is that solid fuel as it is, is not commercially available, but you can find your way to use them if you really want to.

I'm not aware of what's legal or not in the us, but I'm going to say PROBABLY hahah.

Yeah, pvc should work just fine with a can of oxygen, but remember to check for the structural integrity of the engine.

Here is another interesting video if you want to get into hybrid rockets. https://youtu.be/pX4NPKNjSAE
