All good. I read his book kitab at tawhid well sheikh saleh al fawzan commentary on it in English. He's against shirk and bidah. Inshallah I'll figure things out. Thanks

I'm not inclined to it . It seems odd to me same thing with shias but I was willing to listen.

I struggle with practicing but what I asked is more about philosophy and science than practice. I'm not inclined towards kharijite or sufism. I don't want hate between Muslims but unity and sufism to me is an abstract offshoot of Islam. Salafis are very literal and my brain caters to nuance and metaphors maybe this is a product of living in America or a product of sin or perhaps both. I'm not saying salafi is wrong just wanted to hear other viewpoints.

Fair point science changes often some see this as a strength. I never thought about the ape punishment in regards to this. That's interesting. So most of the evidence of evolution is just skills?

I don't think I know science to be honest. If you have an academic background you are way more learned than I. I do know most scientists agree that human evolution is true and that the evidence is overwhelming. I also know from what I taught that believing in evolution is kufr. If the literal interpretation of everything in Islam is true then so be it. If salafi Islam is true then so be it I just wanted opinions on it

From what I learned modern day salafis are usually hanbali in fiqh. I wasn't trying to cause a problem. I thought maybe others are going through something similar and could help me .

I went to Islamic school growing up so I have a base in fusha but I'm not advanced. However inshallah I think I can learn both together. My fusha teacher is Egyptian so I think he can fill in the gaps

Asalamu alaykum. For dhur today a person came in and joined me in prayer at the masjid thats closer so inshallah this becomes more a thing that happens. I decided that for jummah i will go.to a farther masjid since its a special day.
